Lovely welcome

Orchard View Caravan Park
Stayed here for 2 separate nights on the way to and from Scotland. Close enough to the A1 to be not too far out of our way, but far enough so not disturbed by any noise from it. Greeted on arrival by the owner who was very friendly and helpful. Lovely grass field with your own water and electric supply. Very clean and well organised disposal facilities. Great views over the countryside and fields alongside with sheep. You can walk around the orchard which supplies apples for a cider maker nearby, and you can buy bottles on the camp site..... recommended. Would definately stay here again and for longer.

Another lovely stay

Orchard View Caravan Park
Stayed here at the beginning of June and yet again had a lovely stay. Easy access from the A1, yet no noise from it. RAF leeming is close by and the planes go over infrequently but it is fun when they do. Visited the Himalayan gardens and Thorp perrow gardens, both of which were enjoyable. Had a trip on the Wensleydale railway which coincided with market day at Leyburn. We will be back if we are visiting family or heading north.

Bank Holiday treat

Orchard View Caravan Park
Booked this site at short notice after the owner posted on the Facebook CL availability site saying she'd had 2 cancellations for the August Bank Holiday. After going on a slight detour of my own making I located the site. Make sure you read the book or the instructions on web page don't trust sat nav for final instructions. Was welcomed by the owner who gave me a detailed info sheet and a very handy parking permit for free parking in Bedale. You can park which ever way you like but some of the pitches may be sloped but there are chocks available. I stayed up the top so it was fairly level. Great that each pitch has its own electric and water supply. Nice touch on site was the bottles of cider and eggs to buy also the book exchange. The pitches are surrounded by Sheep and a pony on the other side of the fence but our dogs weren't too bothered about them. Nice walk for the dogs round the Orchard or along the long road in to the site. Ideal location for Bedale or North Allerton. Bedale has loads of shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways for you to choose from and only 10min drive away. Great site will hopefully visit again.
