Why stay here ...

High Farm, Beadlam Rigg is located within the North York Moors National Park, just off the A170 which runs between Helmsley and Scarborough, 4 miles from Helmsley and 6 miles from Kirkbymoorside. We are a family friendly site, ideally located for exploring the nearby market towns of Thirsk, Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering and it's just over 45 minutes drive out to the Coast at Scarborough or to York for a bit of culture and shopping! Ryedale itself and the surrounding National Park also has an abundance of tourist attractions to offer.

Our Location

High Farm is located within the North York Moors National Park and is the last property on the road up Beadlam Rigg, beyond the farm the green lane gently rises up to the top of 'Potato Nab' escarpment where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Vale of York to the south and Bilsdale and Slightholmedale to the North. Our roads are not busy (other than the occasional farm vehicle) so they are generally safe for young children and dogs to enjoy a bit of freedom.

High Farm is a working farm and home to our flock of Pedigree Rouge Sheep, a herd of suckler cows with calves and also a few pigs!

The absence of passing traffic really allows you to get away from the busy world if that's what you are looking for, or alternatively you also couldn't be more ideally located for to access numerous fantastic walking, cycling or even horse riding routes. Please get in touch if you wish to bring your horse, we have plenty grazing to turn them out overnight for you if you wish and parking for horse boxes.

Our Site

The CL site is located on the left hand side as you approach the farm. It comprises a 0.5 acre flat and well maintained paddock with fantastic views south across Ryedale. Water, Bins, Recycling facilities and a chemical toilet disposal point are all available near to the site entrance. Hard standings for two caravans or motorhomes. Pets are welcome, however please ensure they are kept under close control at all times. Wifi is now available across the whole site.

In response to the current Coronavirus situation and to reduce the level of contact between guests and also ourselves, our toilet and shower room will be available to book as an ensuite for sole use by one pitch for the duration of your stay. We feel that this is the best way to allow smaller units and those without facilities to still be able to use the site. Please contact us before booking if you wish to take up this offer to ensure we have availability.

Adjacent to the farm steading we also have a spacious modern static caravan which sleeps up to 6 people. So why not bring your friends who do not have a caravan with you or alternatively come back during the winter when you still want to enjoy our wonderful surroundings but could do with a few more home comforts too - the central heating is run off our biomass boiler and there is also 50Mbps WiFi available. In the interest of other guests we do not allow pets within the static caravan and there is also a no smoking policy.

We look forward to welcoming you at High Farm, Beadlam Rigg soon!

A perfect country idyll in a great location and everything you need for a relaxing stay when touring.

High Farm
This is a very well maintained site targeting self contained units, the shower was not available but is very nice. There is the full range of rubbish disposal and fresh water and black water facilities. We were advised to empty our grey water into the hedge row but as we were next to a crop field chose not to and took it with us. Access from the A170 main road is largely single track but its only a short distance and there is a well stocked farm shop nearby on the main road. Thoroughly recommended and would return again.

Lovely CL

High Farm
Our first visit to this CL but it won't be our last. The site is well maintained with short mown grass and no loose cuttings. Communication with Ailsa was good and the booking process easy via the site's website. Good wi-fi is included. Great views and a good base for exploring the North York Moors. A good range of eateries within a short driving distance. Watch out for the pheasants on the approach road. We have never seen so many! Highly recommended.

8 Nights at High Farm

High Farm
8 nights in early September. Very much enjoyed our stay. Site very well kept, toilet/shower block excellent. Deep, quiet countryside with view from the site. Eggs excellent and hens entertaining. WiFi intermittent, maybe depending on whether anyone else was using it. Lots of places to visit in the area and walking. Helmsley a lovely town and it's food shops on the market square offer more local produce at much better prices than the farm shop at Beadlam Grange (no connection with High Farm) - the same punnet of strawberries was cheaper by about £1.50.

Great location to explore the area with lovely views

High Farm
Very well kept working farm. Very peaceful with great views. The paddock where we pitched was perfect and was very well maintained. The owners were really friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back there again.

Neat little find….

High Farm
Managed to get a last minute booking (France trip cancelled) and this was a great find, nicely hidden away but with great views, used our own facilities but a shower is available, ideal spot to travel around and visit places or to just sit and relax…. Which ever floats your boat….. did the Sutton Bank detour as towing a caravan and despite being nervous it is easily achievable with a twin axle….. would happily re-visit when in the area, thanks for a great 5 night stay!
