Why stay here ...

Our CL is on a prime position on our small farm. We were both brought up as caravanners (ralliers) and when our four boys were young we used CLs a lot to give us cheap and safe holidays in the countryside. Now we have had the privilege to move to the countryside ourselves it is time to share our beautiful location and put something back into The Club. Hopefully as caravanners of 40 years each and members in our own right for over 25 years we have set up our CL in the style we would hope to find ourselves, smart, well maintained but easy going. Don't expect us to be in your face, we are around but know that CL users respect their privacy.

We are located in Hilton within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, close to the hugely popular Georgian market town of Yarm. The North York moors, Cleveland hills, the coast at Saltburn and Whitby all just a short drive or cycle away. We are ideally located for a stopover when travelling to Northumberland and Scotland. Teesside itself is always active and a hugely under-rated visitor attraction.

You can walk directly from the CL to the village pub or a 3 minute drive takes you to a highly acclaimed gastro pub (Michelin Bib Gourmand 2019). Yarm offers restaurant and pubs to suit all tastes and budgets.

Walkers, runners, horse riders all pass the door regularly however the largest sport is without doubt cycling. We are directly on the National Cycle Network Route 65, why not park up and cycle from the door, there are some great stops for coffee and cake on the way!

If fishing is your thing there are fishing lakes in the village.

On our farm, we are concentrating on rare breed animals and aiming for a self-sufficient lifestyle as far as possible. We have sheep, goats, pigs and hens. The sheep currently include Shetland, Hampshire Downs and Herdwicks and we are in the early stages of developing our use of their wool. The pigs vary but have included Gloucestershire Old Spots and Saddlebacks. Our goats are Angoras producing the highly sought after Mohair. We also breed some of the rarest goats in the UK, Nigoras which are a dwarf breed with lustrous hair very similar to Cashmere.

We have products from all the animals available for purchase, including meat, wool and mohair products, eggs, jams, chutneys and curds. We should be able to set you up with all the ingredients for a good BBQ, but do call ahead.

It is essential that our livestock are not put at risk so we are relying on you as responsible members of The Club to keep dogs on leads at all times thus enabling us to allow the inclusion of dogs in your holiday. There is the facility to walk dogs on a pleasant walk just a few hundred yards away.

We look forward to meeting friends new and old.

Martin & Fiona Morgan

Gorgeous place

Greenfields Farm
Absolutely lovely CL site , we were lucky enough to be there when lambs were born and saw Fiona hard at work. The next day she brought the little lamb over for a cuddle, we were thrilled.

Love it!

Greenfields Farm
We’ve stayed at this CL several times now and have never been disappointed. Martin and Fiona are lovely and we always receive a warm welcome. They run a very busy small farm and have a great ‘Little Bakers Shed’ with lovely home made produce jams chutneys, bread, scones etc freshly baked. Local amenities are great with a village pub serving food in Hilton and a Michelin *** rosette pub 2 miles in Maltby. Market towns of Yarm and Stokesley worth a visit with shops pubs and restaurants. We love it here it’s peaceful and relaxing. A previous posting on here was way off the mark and not sure where they stayed to be honest. We’ll see you again soon though and keep doing what you’re doing it’s fab.

Great Site

Greenfields Farm
Booked Greenfields Farm C/L as it was close to see relative. Site is slightly sloping, three pitches at one end and two pitches lower down. Entry to site was easy and two mirrors sited for ease of exit. Fresh water, waste water, elsan point and three dustbins for rubbish. Contrary to a previous entry the grass was well kept and even cut while we were there. There is a pub the Falcon within a ten minute walk and we tasted a Parmo, a Middlesborough dish, very nice too, but unless a good appetite just have a regular. Overall a well kept value for money site, will be back.

Absolute Gem.

Greenfields Farm
Love this CL, Martin and Fiona are great hosts and keep the site neat and tidy. The views from the site are stunning and so much wildlife on the door step. We loved watching the lambs playing and listening to the call of the Curlews, we even saw Curlew chicks from the caravan window. Every night we watched the local Barn Owl on the hunt around the nearby fields. On walks around the area, which there are plenty of, we saw dear and Trout rising in the nearby river Leven. Walking distance from the site the village pub serves great beer and fabulous food. The Fiona’s farm shop just outside the site entrance provides great home made sweet treats, bread and free range eggs etc. Nearby are the market towns of Stokesley and Yarm which are well worth a visit. Whitby, the North Yorkshire Moors and the Dales are just a short drive away. So if you want peace and quiet and lots of nature this is a perfect CL. Can’t thank Martin and Fiona enough for making us feel so welcome.

Disappointing

Greenfields Farm
We booked this site for one night only when we were planning our Yorkshire road trip. We’re just glad it was only the one night. Could not get near enough to the water tap to fill up our Motorhome, despite having a reasonably long hose. The owner had fenced the tap off, because he had previously towed out two Motorhomes that had got stuck in the mud earlier in the year, but no alternative solution was offered, so we had to fill by hand using a two gallon water container. The grass needed mowing. Somebody had allowed their dog to foul the only available pitch for us, so we had to clear that up, we’re not dog owners ourselves. The shop mentioned in previous reviews, was in fact, just a small shed, with some items for sale. Didn’t see any meat in the fridge to purchase. When enquired about wool to purchase, was informed, Oh, it’s still on the sheep. When we went to pay, couldn’t get anyone to answer the door, so had to leave the money with a lodger in another part of the property. A delivery driver was having a problem delivering a parcel as well. The owner’s description of their site on the CAMC website sounded idyllic, but in reality fell far short. It really needs a lot of tlc to bring it up to standard and an accessible water tap for Motorhomes. Such a shame, as we thought it was going to be a great find, but wasn’t.
