Old Station House

Discover exciting archaelogical artefacts from 2,000 years of history hidden under the streets of York. The four excavation pits are filled with Roman, Viking, Medieval and Victorian finds - grab a trowel and dig up clues that show how people lived in these times. Terrain is not suitable for pushchairs.

A stunning Medieval house, Barley Hall was once home to the Priors of Nostell and the Mayor of York. Until the 1980s the house was hidden under the relatively modern facade of a derelict office block. Only when the building was going to be destroyed was the amazing Medieval building discovered.
