Delightful spot in nature at its best

The Limes
We have left this absolute gem of a site. I’ve given it too marks for peace and quiet, yes, there is the high speed train but it’s not that bad and in every other way the site is idyllic. A short walk to the canal full of bird life and edged by wonderful countryside. A couple of pubs in walking distance. The site itself has a large lake, a pond, the sites are hard standing with electric and water at the pitches. We had a deer visit, saw lots of bunnies and fell asleep listening to owls. Fabulous

Natural wooded site

The Limes
We had visited a site nearby a few years ago and wanted to come back and explore the area more. Having looked up several sites we came across this one and after reading such good reviews decided to book. Well the reviews certainly did hold true and as everyone had mentioned we were met by George who really is very lovely and accommodating. We spent 4 nights here and found it very secluded and quirky and bigger than it appears. Other than the high speed railway which ran next to the site but you can tune this out it really was an idyllic nature reserve. Just a short walk you come to the canal where you can stroll along way along there and the walnut pub also not far. We were central to all the places we wanted to visit and the cost of staying was so cheap, well worth the visit and would definitely recommend coming.

Hidden Woodland Site

The Limes
On our way to the New Forest we stopped at The Limes for just one night. Wished we were staying longer! George met us in our motorhome at the gate, even though we had been delayed, he showed us to our pitch and gave us lots of information on walks and local area etc. The site is much more than we expected, for the price of £10 with EHU and water, the large pitches are level and well spread amongst trees and meadows, we were on a hardstanding/grass pitch. The only drawback to this site is the sound of train line close by. If we are passing this way again we would definitely return here. Thank you George.

What a gem!

The Limes
March 1st/2nd 2023. We arrived to be greeted by George, who could not have been a more helpful host. We followed him to our pitch through the trees to our secluded spot, noticing the nature that surrounded us as we went. After pointing out the water and electric points etc, George told us about the site and its walks and nearby points of interests before leaving us to set up and explore. The site is a nature haven, having a stream and lake and an abundance of nature amongst the trees and walkways that abound, with walks leading off site to the nearby Grand Union canal. Yes there was a busy railway line a few hundred meters from our pitch but did not present a problem to us at all as we did not find it particularly noisy, some might. There was evidence of deer and rabbit visiting the site and much birdlife/song. It is very tempting to make an early return in breeding season as the birdlife throughout the site is a real attraction and George is such a perfect host.

Brilliant!

The Limes
We stayed for 3 nights in Oct 2022. The welcome we received was great. Taken to our pitch where there was a tap and rubbish disposal. Set in little glades it felt as if we were the only ones there. George is so hospitiableand pointed out things like walks, pubs etc. We will definitely return. Our ‘twig’ tv aerial was hopeless. But that added to the coziness!
