Stafford Certificated Locations

Staffordshire’s county town is a historic place, with plenty of interesting buildings and heritage, including the remains of Stafford Castle being particularly fascinating.

A classic motte-and-bailey structure was constructed by Robert de Toeni in the 1080s as a response to unrest in the local community and it became the seat of the Stafford family.

Castles have been built and destroyed on the site ever since and the remains that can be seen today date mainly from the 19th century.

A peaceful place to stroll is Victoria Park, complete with its glass house, aviary and bandstand. There’s even an outdoor café for buying refreshments.
