View and BookWelcome to the Black Pig Company, a family run small working farm located in rural Worcestershire, near to the Cotswolds. The Black Pig Company is named after the Berkshire Black Pig, a large rare breed black pig, from the Berkshire region. We specialise in breeding this rare pig for conservation reasons, as well as for the table.
We currently have five pitches with access to water and toiletry waste disposal services, a short walk to the farms cafe/shop for hot food and beverages, as well as the ability to stock up on our Bacon, Sausages, Eggs and other products. The pitches are easily accessible from the road with shared access.
Our pigs are freely accessible to visitors to the farm. To keep the pigs company, the farm has a small herd of Highland cows, a number of chickens which provide fresh eggs each day, ducks, geese, calves and a small aviary of ornamental birds. As with the pigs, all of these are freely accessible to farm visitors.
There is a small pond, which has been separated from the pitches, which attracts a number of wildlife both large and small. From Herons looking for fish, frogs to tiny colourful dragonflies.
Dogs are more than welcome in most areas of the farm, but we do request that they are kept on a leash while on site.
The farm is surrounded by both working and natural countryside, with plenty of rambling routes and horse trails to explore. Some routes will lead to some of the local villages and attractions, as well as some glorious views of the local countryside.
While there are a number of local attractions that can be reached by foot or cycling, others are a short drive away. These include Stratford-upon-Avon, the birth place of England’s most famous playwright - William Shakespeare (approx: 20 minute drive), Alcester which is a quintessential English market town with Roman origins (approx: 10 mins drive), and the historic city of Worcester - with its majestic cathedral (approx: 20 mins drive).
There are a number of National Trust properties that are within a short drive, including Breadon Barn, Hanbury Hall and Hidcot. More information on these can be obtained from the National Trust website.
Local attractions include Stratford Butterfly Park, Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Ragley Park.
