Ideally situated just 2 miles off both the M73 (main Scotland North-South route) and M8 (East-West) within the green belt and Glasgow's Seven Lochs Wetland Park Area.
Adjacent to a small farm and our 5 acres of woodland, this quiet site is a perfect stop-over or ideal base for exploring all that Glasgow and SW Scotland has to offer. (Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Clyde Coast, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are all less than an hour away).
P+R/Bus service into Glasgow 1/2 mile away & Rail Stations are within 2 miles.
Families are welcomed, but being a farm, we don't provide any facilities for children and feel the site may be more suitable for adults. Drumpellier Country Park is only 3 minutes away and has full children's play facilities and miles of signposted trails plus a cafe.
Within 3 miles are the Time Capsule Waterpark/Ice Rink, and the [excellent, free] Summerlea Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, plus golf clubs and two excellent Retail Parks for shopping without going into the city.
There are smaller shops, supermarkets, takeaways etc within 1 mile.
EHU, WiFi and an enhanced Pitch are proposed - please check first if these are essential to you.
2 well behaved dogs only. This is a working farm so dogs would need to be on a leash at all times. There is no dog walking allowed on site/in the adjacent woods. (Drumpellier Park is less than 5 minutes away).

Fine for Glasgow
Lochwood Farm
The welcome was enjoyable as was the spacious site. Although only half mile from housing estates you would never know it. It was quite, secluded, secure with lovely country views. Within half mile regular buses to Glasgow city centre. We found the TV reception was intermittent

Only about 10 mins from M74 M73 M8 ideal stopover going further North or South or just chilling on site. Owner kind enough to let me on site early with gate key code and visited to make sure everything was ok for me.
I was visiting family so could come and go as pleased with the key code
I will certainly use again it was lovely

A deceptive gem
Lochwood Farm
Ideally located near the M8/M73 junction (though you wouldn't believe you were so close to the motorway while on site - it is so peaceful) convenient for those stop offs on the longer journey north. Handy for Glasgow and surprisingly very very close to two very large retail parks. A very warm welcome provided by the owner and all assistance one could ask for while setting up. The site is very spacious, almost level and well organised. plenty of help and wooden blocks provided by the owner. I will be returning frequently i'm sure.
Great Overnight Stay
Lochwood Farm
Stopped over on our way to John O Groats. Very well located for major routes and also Glasgow. Communication with Paul was excellent. We were arriving very late and were given good directions to the site and a guide to parking on site. Access was by keypad, making late arrival easy.
A very pretty site, daffodils and cowslips were in flower. Lovely grass and woods.
Paul was very welcoming and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Convenient to the M73 alternative to Strathclyde Park
Lochwood Farm
This is a handy stop for people travelling north with good access from M73 Via junction 2 or 2a. If you plan to make a one night stop on your way north this is a great alternative to Strathclyde Park and will save you several pounds.
Secure entrance with key pad. Attentive and welcoming owners. Blocks would be useful as the ground is undulating But Paul can always sort you out if needed. Surrounded by woodland and secluded. Still under development With plans for EHU And Wi-Fi. There are also plans to provide a super pitch.
We had a very warm welcome having text PAUL to say we were due to arrive he was on the gate waiting to open it for our entry.
