We booked this site based on last years reviews unbeknown to us the site now has a new owner. This site is very small and with a caravan very tight to get onto a pitch. The grass was long when we arrived and wasn’t cut all week. The view we had was of the owners bungalow and from the back a view of the road which was busy most of the day and our caravan shook every time a lorry went past which was quite often. Now the worse thing we had to encounter was the Elsan emptying point. It is at the far end of the owners bungalow and garage. The first gate is very difficult to open and the second one is falling off its hinges. I had to lift the toilet cassette chest hight to empty it into a tank with a makeshift flap on the hole, then the water to wash out with it near a pile of grass clippings with rats running over it. That’s not to mention the weeds, old planks of wood and broken slabs that my wife nearly fell over. Would we return ? No....
Comment from the CL Owner
Thanks for your feedback. As I am sure you can appreciate, the size of the site, and the Elsan point is what we inherited. We will certainly be improving the area around the Elsan point, and the gates mentioned have now been removed, and the ground levelled, and is now gravel around the toilet waste point.
In terms of the lorries, the week you were here they were moving grain out of the grain store, which is unusual at this time of year, and completely out of our control. So I am sorry that it coincided with your visit. It's normally much quieter round here.
We always try to improve the site based on feedback. Such as widening all the pitches, which is now complete.
