Why stay here ...

Fernlea certified location (CL) is situated within the farmland of the Carse of Gowrie, Perthshire with stunning views presented all around. It comprises of hardcore access road, two flat paddocks with 5 hard standings and grass areas plus ample electric points. This is an adult only site and dogs are welcome if kept under control. Adjacent to the pitches are our amusing call ducks and free range chickens who can supply a fresh egg for breakfast.

The site is only 30 yards from the hourly bus and cycle route to Perth and Dundee with their wide range of attractions to suit all tastes and a 20 minute walk to the nearby village of Errol with its variety of shops and restaurants. We are also within easy access to Fife and the southern area of the Highlands. Walkers and Bird Watchers will find many footpaths by the River Tay and can climb the local hills to see buzzards, hawks, ducks and migrating geese throughout the seasons.

Any Visitors requiring repairs or accessories for their van will find the large Perthshire Caravan dealership nearby. Every Sunday one of Scotland's' largest car boot sales and markets is held less than a mile away.

So Doggy Friendly!

A neat little site. Not particularly big hard standing pitches but your own water point. Beautifully mown grass. Ducks with ducklings and chicken in the adjoining garden, a novelty! A mown secure field next door where we could let our dog have a run off lead - brilliant. There is noise from the many heavy lorries that hurtle by all day, but then we were out and about during the day and it was quiet at night so it wasn't a problem. If like most of us you like mooching in a caravan showroom, Perthshire Caravans is seriously HUGE!! Access to Perth and the surrounding area is easy.

A wonderful CL!

What a lovely CL to stay at and what super hosts. The site is easily accessible, pitches are a good size, a water tap and hook up to each pitch. Close to Dundee and Perth, we would recommend and will visit again if we are in this part of Scotland in the future.

Good little site

We spent 5 nights here just before Easter and found it a very convenient site to use. Good access to both Perth and Dundee, we used the bus that passes the site. Pitches are of a good size, we used the one nearest the gate as we have a long van, there is also a longer pitch at the far end of the first field. Great having water on the pitch, and grey water went to the fruit trees nearby. The pitches were pretty level with hardstanding for the van and plenty of grass for an awning if desired. EHU is 10amps. The nearby road was not particularly busy, we could hear traffic, mainly morning and evening, but it was quiet overnight. Good information booth. Be sure to visit the nearby winery, the fruit wines are very good!

Great little find

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying at Fernlea. You have a super little site and we loved the fresh eggs. Even with bad weather we got to go walking, to the pub in Errol, the carboot, winery and Alibobs for lunch, to V&A in Dundee, Perth, Xmas fayre at Scone Palace We will be back

OK but noisy

Had 7 nights here on this neat and easy to find site. Pitches are grass and hard standing and reasonable size though reversing onto pitches was needed due to narrow drive giving little pitching room without use of M/mover. Poultry was kept in their garden and occasionally a couple got onto the pitches and nibbled some small plants we had bought and left outside the awning.A very busy little road was 50 yards away used by mixed traffic. Not only were the HGV's noisy, they severely disrupted the tv signal. Buses , tractors and even cars affected the picture and sound whichever way the Ariel was pointed. This, despite the site book stating 'TV reception good' Very frustrating when loss of continuity was experienced Eggs were advertised for sale but was told he sold so many to local businesses he never had any left for caravaners. The owners also had 4 Westies which were prone to yapping quite often.Mobile phone signal tended to be poor. On the good side, the info shed was good, it was central to visit lots of places of interest. the grass was nice and short and collected, a water tap was at each pitch, and the owner was friendly. Would we go again? Probably.
