Fabulous Stay Despite the Rain

Maen Y Bugail
Stayed here for 2 nights 17th and 18th July 2023. Met by Emlyn the site owner who was lovely and showed us pitch availability and let us choose whichever pitch suited us best. Offered a lift if we got stuck at all while we were staying which was very kind. Each pitch is large and has its own water and electric. There are no other facilities on site but there is a chemical toilet disposal on site. The site is close to the old Copper mine and its a lovely walk around the area. We walked into Port Amlwch on the Monday evening, its about a 20 minute walk we didn't locate a path to cross country so headed straight down the road which was quiet enough. Two pubs were open and we opted for the Adelphi so we could sit outside as it was a lovely evening. Lots of folks eating in there but we didn't eat so can't comment. Chippy next door was closed so again can't comment. Absolutely poured with rain all day on the Tuesday and thankfully we had good TV signal. Lovely spot for a short stay and to visit that part of Anglesey. We paid £20 per night for two adults with water and electric plus one very well behaved dog.

Ideal location

Maen Y Bugail
This is a lovely quiet site away from the busier popular resorts. However, the location is such that it is easy to access anywhere on the island. Not fancy but provides all that is needed and is well kept. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The site location is about a mile from a wonderful little beach and sheltered cove and which is not as busy as other better known destinations. Care needs to be taken when arriving as it is easy to miss the entrance. A "my three words" reference may assist for a trouble free arrival. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Lovely location.

We booked on spec not really knowing the area. The site is very well manicured and very easy access without using narrow country lanes. Lovely scenery with a secluded coe around 15 minute walk or very dhort drive with free parking. Plenty to see and highly recommend.

Delightful site

Maen Y Bugail
A kind welcome from the owner. We had the elevated pitch so lots of lovely views. Well set up, clean and tidy. 3 double hook-ups allow for four units along the hedge and another on the elevated pitch, for which the owner provides an extension lead. Local facilities nearby and there is a beach within a mile, with a carpark. Lovely cycling from the site and various walks within easy reach. Thank you for a lovely stay.
