Beautifully kept CL with good facilities

Four Winds Farm
This was my first stay at Four Winds Farm, and I was their first guest of the season and had the whole site to myself. Needless to say it was very calm and peaceful. The site is beautifully kept and the owners are rightfully (if rather sternly) protective of the grass, which is perfectly manicured. No motor movers allowed when positioning vans, which posed a slight problem for me as a lone camper with very novice reversing skills. Once in place, however, there were no issues. The site is secured with a passcode barrier. Toilets were cleaned every day. Toilets, pay shower, washing up stand and chemical disposal. Hookups are free, but usage is charged at the end of the stay. All pitches are flat with lovely open views. The CL is a fenced off corner of a much larger ralley field, also benefiting from hookups, but no use of the toilet block. I think in full summer season the site might feel quite busy and much less tranquil. The location is great. Just a 5 min drive into town/beach, or a 20 min walk across the fields to the sea front. I had a great stay and would look forward to visiting again later in the year - in the meantime I will practice reversing my van!

Never again!

Four Winds Farm
Very rude people, no social skills at all, would never go there again!

Four Winds Farm
A wonderful stay. Immaculately kept camping field with fresh water and electric on each pitch. Facilities are basic but very clean. Wonderful views of the open countryside, you can even see the sea in the distance. The owners were very welcoming informative. Would definitely stay here again

Poorly managed

Four Winds Farm
The lady owner was more than abrupt, she was rude. Her helper/worker was the opposite and the only reason we stayed the night.

Is this classified as a CL?

Four Winds Farm
My wife and I visited for 3 nights in Aug to see family in the near area. We used this site last Aug for the same reason and, whilst the owner was quite abrupt, we found the site pleasant. We arrived to be told that the CL was no longer on the small field adjacent to their house but was now an area on the far larger rally field. We were not impressed although not about to leave and tow home (about 190 miles). The CL is separated from the rally field by a waist high wire fence. How can this be an adult only CL when you may be next to several caravans with children? I pointed out the change in arrangements compared to last year and was sternly told that we were not on the small field last year – we have photographs of us and our guests sitting, socially distanced, next to our caravan in said field! When I informed her of our planned visitors, she informed us that all visitors are now banned due to Covid as she cant "police visitors" - how much "policing" would my 81 year old mother require? The site fees are now £20 per night as opposed to £15 last year. As customers, we would expect to be informed of significant changes prior to our arrival - they hold my email address and phone number. We would not have used this site if we were aware of the new draconian rulings. To be fair, the pitches are well maintained, large and are each equipped with a tap and EHU. We have never been spoken to in this manner – as a Victorian teacher would deal with petulant children. We will never return. The worst experience I have endured in 50 years of camping and caravanning.
