It's all about the view
Cledd Y Tan Farm
A beautifully simple CL with one of the best views. All pitches are sloping but hard standings and large blocks are supplied for levelling. 16A EH U to every pitch and water readily available from a tap centrally located. The owner Steve is very pleasant and good fun. The access is through the farm yard but with plenty of space - our 7.5 x 2.5m caravan fitted easily. Within easy reach of Chepstow. Highly recommended and good value at £15 per night. We will return.

Uncomfortable

First is that the views from this site Are fantastic and we were made very welcolm.
But because the pitch was really sloping it was really uncomfortable, so we wont be back again, which is a shame.

Cledd Y Tan Farm
A little gem, so special that I am nervous about recommending it in case it gets busy and we can’t get a pitch! Lovely welcome from Steve, and great comms from Lynne, whom we have yet to meet. Thank you for being very accommodating and friendly hosts - and thanks also for rousing us to see the mist in the valley on the first morning, a sight not to be missed. The road up is quite narrow but we managed fine in our large motorhome (almost 7.5m long). It really is the perfect place to watch the sun rise and set!
Absolute Gem
Cledd Y Tan Farm
We found this CL by chance while looking for somewhere 'safe' and quiet. What a find!! As others have said the views are stunning and Steve and Lynne couldn't have been more helpful. We stayed for 3 weeks in September and returned in October until we had to leave because of lockdown in Wales despite the low risk in Monmouthshire. I am sure we will return time and again. We were content to sit out in the sun and/or cosy-up in the van watching the horses and bird life on a 'rest day'. We also enjoyed numerous walks nearby and have plenty more to explore! An added bonus is the farm shop just down the road for most essentials including delicious home baked bread and cakes made by Sarah. In this sad year of 2020 this holiday will be long remembered as our treasured highlight!
Fantastic views
Cledd Y Tan Farm
This CL has probably one of the best views of any CL. The site is on a working farm and could be a bit muddy if the weather is wet. The access is straight forward and comes in through the farm yard – look out for the signs directing you if you approach from the west, if you turn too soon it could be difficult to get into the CL!
Steve, the owner, will provide you with a very friendly welcome (and a couple of duck eggs for breakfast if you are lucky!).
The views are what make this site, being nearly 1000 feet up and looking down into a very broad valley. It was quiet, the road is immediately adjacent to the site but is not busy. Good access to local amenities, 3 bar 4G signal for EE on your mobile, free wifi on site.
Overall a good stop for a night or two in the area.
