Why stay here ...

Trecastell Farm CL is a secluded site set on a small working farm. Easy access to the M4 (juntions 34 and 35) makes this an ideal stopping point for West Wales and the Irish ferries. It is a convenient location to explore the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, South Wales Valleys, Brecon Beacons and the market town of Cowbridge. The capital city of Wales, Cardiff, is a 12 minute train ride from nearby Pontyclun station. Wales' most visited tourist attraction, Saint Fagan's museum, is a 20 minute drive away.

The pitches are grassed and flat with stunning views. There are no additional charges for electricity, awnings, cars, children or pets. Water is available on site with the disposal point within 50 meters. There is good television reception. The only rule is that you enjoy yourself and respect fellow caravaners.

2 pubs within a mile serve meals and real ale. Within 3 miles, there is a wide variety of restaurants and shops, from a 24 hour superstore to local independent stores.

We have many regular visitors who compliment us on the peaceful, clean and convenient site. We hope that once you have stayed you too will wish to return.

Perfectly peaceful

Small yet perfect! We stopped here for two nights whilst visiting family. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The site is basic with hookup and water, a small field with great views. Amazing value for money! We will most definitely be returning 😁 Thank you for a perfectly peaceful weekend

Perfect peaceful get away

I have stayed here a number of times and always find myself coming back. The owners are friendly and welcoming I was greeted like a close friend on my first visit and knew if there were any problems they were close by and would be more than happy to help, they recommend the best places for food and gave directions to the local shops and the large tescos. The site is as advertised on a working farm and you can often see the owner with his dog moving the sheep. It is a peaceful site with no one for miles (apart from other guests) and beautiful views, close to beach and surf spots without the hustle and bustle of seaside sites perfect for myself as I like to travel round surfing but often find the sites next door to the beach too busy. I found the site easy to find although it is down a country lane there was plenty of room. If you are wanting a peaceful place just off the beaten track but close to local amenities this is the place to stay.

Abysmal site

Visited this site in June 2019. The man who took our booking was not in charge of the site any more he had sold it to someone else. He also failed to tell new owner of the bookings he took.When we arrived there was no sign to say it was a member of MCC so we missed the entrance Only to find ourselves down a very narrow lane where we hit a rock in the hedge which damaged our wheel and tore the tyre To shreds and ripped part of the caravan bumper off. When we had changed the wheel we eventually found our way back to the site and were appalled at what we saw. Grass very long hence we were attacked by Horse flies and the facilities were awful. As the previous review said there were perminent vans there on site with the best positions. We could not even give this site one star. We've have stayed on many CL sites since the 70's but we have never seen such a bad site. MCC should visit this site to see for themselves.

Almost adequate

We didn’t like this site. On arrival it was obvious that the best pitching places were already taken by 2 caravans which looked like permanent fixtures. Obviously in use by people from, or associated with, the farm. There was one other tourist caravan on site, and we struggled to find a suitable place to pitch that wasn’t on a slope or too near the bins, which were in a prominent position at the entrance. The water pressure was very low which made filling the Aqua Roll a long process, and cleaning the toilet cassette more of an onerous job than usual. The clean water tap was located in a dip alongside an overgrown hedge, in overgrown grass and the toilet emptying place was nowhere to be seen…..the other tourists told us where to find it, in another field through a gate. No sign to it at all. The field had been recently mown, but the grass had not been collected, so our caravan ended up full of it. We tried 3 times to raise the owners at the house, to pay. They were not in the first 2 times. They never once came to see we had got pitched up ok and found the facilities, and it wasn’t until near the end of our 2 night stay that we were able to find them. The view would have been good, but one of the 2 permanent caravans was pitched between us and it. I’m afraid I can’t recommend this site. At best it was almost adequate.
