Chirk Certificated Locations

The small town of Chirk is situated in Wrexham, close to the English border with the county of Shropshire. It's the ideal place to visit if you enjoy some culture and history, as well as spectacular scenery.

The National Trust-owned Chirk Castle was begun in the early 12th century and now takes pride of place in the Ceiriog Valley above the conurbation, while Chirk Marina is nestled between two magnificent aqueducts that can be walked across if you're daring.

Back on ground level, the Llangollen Canal is lovely and relaxing to walk along and it's worth checking out the Grade I-listed Parish Church of St Mary's before you head for refreshments at one of the welcoming cafes or inns.

For walkers, the location could hardly be better. Awesome valleys, romantic glens, moorland, mountains and woodland are all within easy reach of Chirk.

Meanwhile, for adventurous types, there's also the opportunity to do a Segway tour, kayaking or canoeing.
