Why stay here ...

Grafham Water Club Site is a peaceful, six acre oasis where you can relax and unwind. Located a mere 0.5 mile west of picturesque Grafham village in Huntingdon, the caravan park is ideal those who enjoy a slow wander in charming settings. It is also a short walk to Grafham Water, popular as an international centre for trout fishing, windsurfing and major sailing events.

Boasting green, level pitches and a children's play area, Grafham Water Club Site also has at its centre a 350-year old cottage, once owned by the Oliver Cromwell family. Part of the moat that surrounded the estate still exists, providing an excellent haven for local wildlife, especially our family of ducks. For those who like some energetic fun, cycling, horse riding, tennis, golf and carting are just some of the activities near the caravan site to keep you entertained. For those interested in history, the nearby Imperial War Museum, Duxford Air Museum, is well worth a visit.

There is now a community run village shop in Grafham selling essentials and groceries.

Grafham Water will be operating as a service point only site for the 2020 season (no toilet/shower/dishwashing facilities). The service points will provide fresh water, waste water disposal and toilet waste emptying facilities. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

Very Peaceful location

Our second post lockdown trip, it unfortunately had to be cut short due to the very strong winds on what should have been the first day, and despite the rain we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay

Great for cyclists

Just back from a lovely 3 night stay here (our 2nd visit) and felt it was even better than remembered. No facilities due to a boiler problem, but frankly that just made us feel safer in this COVID 19 era! Staff were very efficient and not intrusive (no 8 a.m lawn mowing). The cycling here is brilliant, we cycled around Grafham Water (9.6 miles in total) quite challenging in places but well worth the effort. The visitor centre and the fishing lodge were open for drinks and snacks. Small village shop nearby and we used that to replenish T bags. Nice church with book sale in entrance is just down the lane from the club. Very pretty area and well kept site, we loved it.

Lovely site, pity about lack of facilities

This is a lovely small, peaceful site with lots of walks available nearby. The only downside is the total lack of facilities this year, whilst charging fees for a site with full facilities. There were no shower, toilet, washing up facilities, as noted on the website because the boiler had broken down. There was also no rubbish disposal available at service points because the tractor had broken down and we had to take rubbish to a central point. Why is CMC unable to get a boiler or tractor repaired at this site? Add to that the derelict swimming pool and it suggests there may be other plans for this site. If that is the case CMC should be upfront about it. Whatever the reasons fees are being charged for a fully serviced site, which this clearly is not. CMC should arrange refunds for all who have used this site this year and reduce the fees for the rest of the year.

Great peaceful stay

This is a lovely site, well maintained with very friendly and helpful wardens, lots of shade and good basic facilities. We cycled into Grafham to the well stocked community shop, basic but providing all the essentials, there is also a pub but it is not open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so as these were the days we stayed could not use. We had a “take away” one night from the Cinnamon Indian restaurant in Grafham (Ordered over the phone - the details are in the info hut on site - and picked up by cycling, we should have eaten in as it looked really nice) food was delicious - highly recommended. We also fished, again buying a fishing permit over the phone rather than a long bike ride to the fishing lodge - they e mailed the permit to us. On another day we cycled all round the lake, stopping for coffee at the lodge then visiting the wheatsheaf Pub for lunch in West Perry again highly recommended, it was busy and probably best to book a table for evening meals. It was a lovely break, however The only down side was that we had to used out own facilities as the showers, toilets, wash up and laundry were closed. This would be ok but there is no reduction in price which we felt would be a good gesture and noted by everyone we spoke to. We would however recommend the site and will visit again.

Short stay/motorhome

Nicely laid out small site.Stayed 2nights in our Motorhome. The shower block and toilets were not open during our stay due to Covid. Not sure why! We had stayed on 4other sites during our break and all had systems in place for use of facilities.Would not have stayed longer because of this. The village is within walking distance but there is Nothing there. A community shop and a pub in a Social hall which is only open 4days.Grafham water is a good long walk away from the site.Ok for people with cars but not a site for a longer stay in a Motorhome.Peaceful and clean with friendly warden.Would only return if needed an overnight stay on route to somewhere else.
