Why stay here ...

Wirral is a peninsula of great natural beauty, and the Wirral Country Park Club Site is set right in the midst of some of its loveliest landscapes with wonderful sea views. Located in a country park of 2,000 acres of unspoilt nature, the caravan park is made up of several pitching areas attractively separated by trees and shrubs. Some pitches overlook the Dee Estuary, which is one of many ideal places for scenic walks. There are lots of lovely wooded areas on site and plenty of bird life to observe.

Wirral Country Park Club Site puts you within easy reach of a wealth of fun activities to suit all tastes, whether for sports enthusiasts, young families or those with ultra-relaxed pursuits in mind. You will find the caravan park just perfect for sailing - no less than seven private Sailing Clubs offer temporary and family membership to visitors. Apart from a huge choice of unforgettably scenic walks, the area offers power-boating, water skiing and other water-based sports to enjoy along with several indoor swimming pools, sports and recreation centres and golf courses. One of our Merseyside touring sites, you’ll be conveniently located to visit Liverpool and explore north Wales.

A mobile fish and chip van visits this site, please ask the site staff for details.

Wonderful Wirral

I have just returned from a 6 day visit to the Wirral Club Site. The site staff are most helpful and are working tirelessly to keep the site Covid safe. I am very unsure what "packed in like sardines" means. The site has very spacious pitches, some of the largest I have come across. With regards to sea views the site information says that some pitches overlook the Estuary and I can confirm that it can be seen from more than half of them. There are wonderful opportunities for walking or cycling along adjacent, flat, traffic free paths which start at the site entrance. A visit along the footpath to the nearby Visitor Centre is worthwhile and gives access to the beach and only takes about 10 minutes.

Wirral Country Park

Site is great, we stayed on a grass pitch no33 but realised not a good pitch soon. On the edge of the park and also near a clearing on the cliff, we had a group of people drinking and swearing all afternoon, they left much to my relief but later in the evening we landed a large group of people drinking and partying on the public side of the boundary, much played well into the early morning and felt that people on the site thought it was ourselves. Would stay at the camp again but stay way from the boundaries.

Good base for exploring the Wirral Peninsula

This site makes an excellent base for exploring the area on foot or bike, or for simply relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. Access is straightforward, the final approach is a bit narrow and can become blocked if too many units arrive at the same time. The earliest arrival time is now stated as being 1300, but we witnessed several units arriving early and being allowed on site before this. Some members, it appears feel the rules don’t apply to them and the Clubs’ attitude to arrival times is inconsistent, some sites allowing early arrivals onto site and others making them wait. This is something the Club needs to get a grip on and sort out in fairness to members who do make an effort not to arrive early. The site itself is well laid out with a variety of level pitches on offer. Some are in secluded and well sheltered cul de sacs and there are a few with magnificent views over the Dee Estuary. The latter are quite exposed and are prone to being battered by strong winds. Unfortunately you cannot have views and shelter in this part of the country and is a choice for individuals to make. There is a single toilet block, which we did not use due to covid restrictions despite it being open. Wildlife abounds on and around the site. We were entertained by a squirrel on the bird feeder throwing seed down to the rabbit underneath, much to the amusement of our dog. The Wirral Way cycle track is directly outside the site, from where you can walk for miles either towards West Kirby or through the country park to Gayton Sands Nature Reserve and beyond. The Dungeon, past Thurston Church and back via the country park makes a pleasant circular walk and Hilbre Island is well worth walking to at low tide.

Lovely family Site

Just returned from our second visit to this site, and as a family we love it. Lots of beautiful walks from the caravan site and the beach only 10 mins away with the beautiful beach of West Kirby only a 15 min drive away. Nice children's play area that kept my Children occupied for hours on end. the Wardens on this site are extremely helpful and go above and beyond to help out in any way they can, very friendly. The pitches are also of a good size

Excellent site

Very pleasantly surprised with how good this site is. Having come from the Wirral originally wanted to go back and stay a few days and explore come places haven’t seen for many years. Went in our motor home and facilities first class staff vey friendly and helpful as were neighbours in other caravans and motor homes. Wirral Way is ideal for getting to West Kirby, Parkgate and Hoylake which I did on the bike but also some nice long walks with the dog. Great views of coastline also. Will definitely return if can get booked in as seems very popular spot. Highly recommended.
