Set on a small hillside, Minehead Club Campsite is spread across several flat areas, all of which are attractively screened from the road with plentiful trees and bushes. For shopping and all the attractions of a traditional British seaside resort, Minehead is only a 15-minute walk from the caravan site. Another tempting attraction to visit when touring in Somerset is nearby Dunster Castle. Beautiful Exmoor, famous as Lorna Doone country, is also a popular draw, especially for walkers and those with dogs. There are also excellent bus links to explore the Quantocks, Porlock, Taunton and Dulverton.

The coastal path near Minehead Club Campsite is marvellous, with many of its vistas being more impressive than the last. The little lanes and small, intimate villages, such as Porlock, Porlock Weir, Selworthy and the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth are all well worth the visit for their charm and easily accessible from the caravan park. You can also enjoy a scenic steam train journey to Bishops Lydeard which takes in plenty of stops along the way. Be it countryside walks or a taste of the rural life, there is bound to be something to delight visitors to this tranquil destination.

Most enjoyable.

Minehead Club Campsite
We stayed on the site for 5 nights between 9th-14th June. The site is not large but its tiered layout makes it seem even smaller than it is. Some of the pitches are not as large as you might expect for an awning and the "traditional" set up with the caravan centrally sited between the awning and the tow vehicle. Be that as it may,it is an attractive site which is invisible from the road running by and is well screened and soundproofed from traffic. There is one toilet block which was spotlessly maintained by the wardens and we never had to queue to use any of the facilities. In addition there are two individual unisex toilets to the rear of the block which can be used at any time. Overall the site is well maintained and is a credit to the wardens. We had a totally unexpected problem with the battery on our tow car on our day of departure. I tried to get in touch with the RAC and was promptly warned about long waits for help. In desperation I approached the wardens for advice about local garages or sources of assistance. To my utter surprise they offered to use their own power pack equipment which got the car started straight away. An act of absolute kindness for which my wife and I remain extremely grateful. A memorable end to a most enjoyable holiday.

Highly recommend this site!

Minehead Club Campsite
We have just returned from a very relaxing 12 night break at the Minehead site. New to the area we knew very little, but there was lots of information provided on arrival and in the on-site information room. It's a very easy walk into the town and beach from the site, with a small supermarket just a 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed visits to the spectacular Dunster Castle and Watermill, Lynmouth and Lynton, Porlock and Bossington. Watchet is a nearby harbour town with a cute market and some lovely shops. Exmoor is on the doorstep offering fantastic views and walks. Minehead beach itself has wide sandy beaches and they were very quiet too on the days we visited! The site itself is divided into small areas which gives it a nice feel, the toilet and shower facilities are immaculate and the grounds are beautifully kept. The TV signal and Wi-fi were also great, much better than we have often had elsewhere. Zoe and Sam (who manage the site) couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. They clearly genuinely love the job and this is evident in the way they look after their guests and manage everything. As a consequence, we could see why so many of those on pitches around us are frequent visitors to the site and we will definitely be returning too! Thank you :)

Great staff, friendly welcome and spotless facilities

Minehead Club Campsite
We stayed here for 2 nights over the Easter period. First time in about 10 years for us as it's not an easy site to access from Cornwall in a 7m motorhome. Lovely, friendly welcome. You have to park up and walk around to choose your pitch, which we can understand, however it can get a bit congested near reception if everyone turns up at 1pm! Great choice of pitches and we chose to be tucked away in a small section near the facilities block. Very quiet for Easter so we were happy. Facilities block was always very warm and extremely clean. However, it does need updating. Bins and recycling all in one place near entrance to site. Easy walk into Minehead, follow the sites instructions for quickest route in. Nice walk into Dunster (couldn't find the route site suggested for some reason so found our own and it was fine). Co-op, fish & chip shop, Chinese takeaway (that wasn't great in our opinion!) and Indian restaurant just down the road (5 minute walk) so all very convenient. Minehead is a bit of a 'tired town' now (again only our opinion), full of tat shops for charity shops (that I love going around!). We found the Wheelhouse Restaurant to eat in on the Saturday night and it was fantastic. Proper home-made food in a friendly environment. Would stay on this site again but only if coming from the North back home to Cornwall and able to access it via the A39.

Nice spring break

Minehead Club Campsite
This is a clean, tidy and well maintained site in walking distance of Minehead and Dunster for anyone who is reasonably mobile. There is easy access to Wootton Common and Alcombe Common and a great pub 10 minutes walk from the site (Britania Inn) - here's hoping the new chef resumes the previously extensive vegetarian/vegan menu. A good tip (if you don't want to move your motorhome) is to catch the bus to Porlock or Porlock Weir. Wardens were extremely helpful when we had an issue with our van's ignition.
