The natural landscape of this location means you'll be surrounded by nature at its finest. Pandy Club Campsite itself is a level, luscious green site, scattered with impressive mature trees, located at the western boundary of the River Honddu. Visitors are treated to the majestic Skirrid, which greets all early risers with its imposing presence. Abergavenny is a treat for all newcomers with its ancient castle being a particular highlight and a food festival that takes place in September. The site is also well placed for visiting the county town of Hereford on the River Wye, with its beautiful cathedral and range of shops and places to eat.

Walks, whether guided or unguided (the Bannau Brycheiniog/Brecon Beacons National Park produces a useful list) prove rewarding as there are no less than seven pubs within 2 miles of the campsite with the nearest a mere 50 yards stroll away. The area is also noted for fine dining, including a Michelin Star restaurant.

Historical buildings characterise the area, which speak of the unsettled and sometimes battle-torn history of the borders. Magnificent views can be found at the Symonds Yat Rock with breathtaking sights over the lazy River Wye. The site is situated 0.5 miles from the Offas Dyke path and 10 miles from Blaenavon World Heritage Centre.

Directions

Map showing campsite location

Please only use these recommended directions for the final approach and not sat nav, as alternative roads are unsuitable roads for towing. It is recommended that you avoid towing through Abergavenny. Slight left onto A465 (Abergavenny - Hereford) for 6.6 miles towards Hereford. Pass sign for Pandy and slow down. Turn left at The Old Pandy Inn into minor road signposted Longtown, Walterstone, Oldcastle. Immediately after passing under the railway bridge the Site is on the left. Please note, a railway line runs adjacent to the site and main line trains do run through the night. On occasions steam trains pass and cause great interest.

Good little site.

Pandy Club Campsite
Nice little site with excellent recently refurbished facilities. The nearby train line did not impact on our stay. Good site for a three or four night stay with several enjoyable walks from your door. The Old Pandy pub next door to the site was closed during our visit but there is another nice dog friendly pub The Rivers Edge a fifteen minute walk away.

We'll be back!

Pandy Club Campsite
Fabulous site in interesting area. Wardens very cheerful and helpful. New facilities are great. Pitches feel spacious and are well laid out and maintained. Dog wash and dog walk much appreciated. The site was quiet - passing trains not an issue and, unlike many Club Sites, the nearby road traffic noise was minimal. Recommend anyone visiting has a trip to 'The Big Pit National Coal Museum' at Blaenavon (UNESCO site) where visitors can go down a disused coal mine - for £5 - fascinating bit of our Industrial History.

Small well kept site

Pandy Club Campsite
Friendly greeting from the newly arrived Wardens and the newly refurbished wash block was a plus. The campsite is spacious and had a large dog exercise area. Finding the the 'Old Pandy Inn' had very recently closed was disappointing but the bus service being so infrequent and stopping early was more of a disappointment. We found the campsite quiet, with the passing trains just being a background noise but we do live less than a mile from a train station. Part of our stay it did rain very heavily making it possible to hear the road noise from passing lorries in the daytime. Abergavenny is a lovely Market Town to visit.

Noisy site

Pandy Club Campsite
The newly refurbished facilities block is fabulous but our stay was spoiled by the noise of trains during the day and at night. Also there is some noise from traffic on the A465. It rained heavily during our week at Pandy and our grass pitch became very muddy. We left a day early disappointed with our Pandy experience.

Wonderful

Pandy Club Campsite
Re-visited Pandy for the second time this year as we were very pleased with the site refurbishment which has taken place. We had a service pitch right underneath the railway line, which was great and allowed us to see the passenger and freight trains going past. The site is well maintained, clean and tidy. The new facilities/toilet block is great - spacious, immaculate, great hairdryers. We love the 'chain pull' in the chemical toilet disposal too. The pitches are really good size and level for motorhome and awning and it is disappointing to see several units prefer to park their car across the pitch front rather than next to their unit. It does make the north side of the site look like a car park. Great walks from the site, and the dog field is perfect. We don't normally comment on the wardens, but in this case, a special shout out to Karen and Martin - very helpful, accommodating and friendly, always happy to have a chat to check everything is in order and everyone is happy. We had a china mug disaster and, with no shops nearby to purchase a new one, the wardens kindly lent us a mug without any fuss. The Old Pandy Inn is a disappointment once again, having just got back on its feet, it is now shut having been sold by the Brewery, so you do have to be self-sufficient or have access to a town to stock up on supplies. The bus from the main A465 to Abergavenny is great for this, although a little infrequent during the day. However, the pub is not the responsibility of the Club. We had glorious weather during our stay, so we have come back with fond memories of Pandy and look forward to visiting again next year.
