A simple question. As the caravan club no longer offer caravan insurance as such what suggestions for a new insurer that does.

Contact them & ask if they’re regulated by the FCA(financial conduct authority)👍🏻

Possibly pointless if I have a contract with them that clearly states 'We offer cover on a discretionary basis which means that your Executive Committee has sole and absolute discretion on deciding claims and may accept or reject claims in its discretion'. Some cans of worms are best left unopened unless as fishing bait

Ok no worries. I was leaning towards a definitive answer rather than a wishy washy ‘guess/belief’👍🏻

Sounds like we have had a lucky escape insuring our MH. We do drill down into a good deal of the small print, and for another reason dismissed CC insurance as it didn’t give us what we required. But we missed this.

They will be regulated by the FCA however as I see it the FCA are there to regulate conduct based on the contract with a company and I would not have as great a confidence if I had entered a contract with an insurance provider who stated that all payment was at their discretion.

The Insurance Ombudsman would be my port of call for an insurance dispute but with CC 'cover' this will not apply as they are not regulated by that body.

Why.  If you read the T's & C's it clearly says the "cover" is not.

Yup, I get it👍🏻. Although I’d do the belt & braces thing, & the research with the FCA. I like to know things deeply😊

Just checked around website. There are two different pages, one is for Insurance the other is Caravan Cover, which is on a separate page. I will try and post links

https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/caravan-cover/

 https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/insurance/motorhome-insurance/

Links are at the top of the page. It appears that MH and Campervan Insurance is offered, vehicles have to be legally insured. But I couldn’t find insurance for Caravans, only Cover.

Why ‘not as great a confidence’ if that is the case?, surely no company can openly deny a claim purely as a way of getting out of said claim🤷🏻‍♂️

TTDA

This only concerns their caravan product, motorhomes are offered "Insurance"

Look at the headers near the top of the page and you will find "Caravan Cover" and "Insurance"

Edit: Just seen your above post. laughing
