When the lockdown ends

I know Boris does not like to hear this but the lockdown is being pushed by economics,  I live on the edge of Manchester and can see a marked increase in traffic as more people go back to work. More shops and small buisineses have opened and even the bigger food takeaway chains are talking of opening all of them following strict guidelines.  Many shops etc have been open all along. Even talk of football matches being played.

The club should now be looking at the possibilities of how the sites can be run under strict guidelines.  There is not going to be a magic date when everything returns to normal as there will not be a normal as we used to know but a new normal of which all organisations such as CAMC should be prepared for.  If  any preparations are being made we should know about them and  be given a chance to comment and submit suggestion.  This is not what the club is used to but does what it wants and if it does not listen to its members it will see the membership numbers fall.

JUST LOOK AT THE MEMBERS COMMENTS AND FOR ONE PUT A COMMENT THERE WILL BE MANY WHO WILL THINK WHY BOTHER AND JUST NOT RENEW MEMBERSHIP.

Maybe its me being a brexiteer looking for the negatives, couple of weeks ago Spain was saying it would welcome tourists back after its lock down but no one from the UK. Spain forgets that early seventies it was the british that kick started spanish tourism and to this day l would bet we are the biggest countries citizens that holiday their, l bet you if you asked the question their would be hostilities to us due to Brexit using Covid 19 has an excuse, its my opinion, others may disagree. l will stay touring in the UK and spend my money in areas that will be glad of it the club will be glad of it after this is all over, those that choose to travel abroad it's your decision.

Must be me but I don't get it. Sadly 28,000 people have already died in the UK from this virus and that isn't the end. IF anyone is allowed to use their van, it won't be until at least July, probably even later. So let's say, if we take holidays until Oct, that's 3 or 4 months. We've already lost that amount of time this year. So if I have to lose another 4 months of holidays to possibly save my life, my family from suffering the virus and to not transmit it from one area to another then so be it. I would love to get away but just because the government says I can doesn't mean to say that I will go. Even if away there will be very few places open to visit. It's a shame people can't holiday but my goodness there are much worse things in life.

Can't tell you how much! However still concerns! Their lockdown was level 4, they've moved down to level 3, or as they were told 3.9 πŸ˜‰. They're watching and waiting to see how it goes, then it'll be level 2.

Son in law back to work, they got some sort of pay, but had to use holiday as well whilst not working!

At present the schools don't want pupils in, learning is online and set by child's teacher, because of distancing and cleaning. They are hoping supply teachers will be in school for the pupils whi need to be in school, for a bit.

Their government acted swiftly and consistently, they have a moat! 🀐. Fingers crossed things will continue as they have been. They hope the country will pick up home grown tourists when the time comesrather than inviting them into the country. Of course they are going into winter soon, so hopefully places that rely in tourists will be able to start trading again with home grown tourists.

That's interesting when you think about the climate, going into winter. We're just about to go into summer when everyone wants to go out and visit everywhere in their thousands. I looked up tourist numbers from abroad and in 2017 we had 39.2 million visitors (NZ has around 3 million.) We're up against huge logistical problems to prevent further outbreaks etc. and we're running into our main holiday season.

Country is still climbing daily in terms of cases and deaths as well. Taking USA out of equation, we are approaching Italian case and death rates, and now showing three times the new case rate and twice the death rate of Italy and Spain. UK has a very long way to go yet.

That is true just looking at the raw figures. However, this graph looks at daily deaths per million using a 7 day rolling average. This shows the curve is not that much different to Italy. True it's not currently come down as low but our rise up started later, so that is to be expected.

l am sorry but has soon has the lockdown is lifted with restrictions, l will go an see my grandson which l haven't seen since Christmas, and if the club opens the sites l will travel to a site close to him. l am sorry that others feel different, After fighting prostate cancer for the last 2 years time is precious to me, l will take the chance, besides the wife and l are sure we had the virus in January and will wait for the test to see if we have had it, has soon has the test comes available. Believe me its very hard to lock ourselves down when you know every day is precious to you and not see your loved ones that live a fair way away. Hope this does not upset those that are dead against lifting the lockdown
