A number of specific questions have been raised about what might happen after 29 March 2019 when the UK leaves the European Union (EU). We've identified some information and advice for people travelling abroad with caravans and motorhomes in the hope that it will help you find out what impact Brexit may have on your holiday plans. You can find this here: Travelling after Brexit

We will also try and keep you updated with relevant information on this discussion and please feel free to share information and advice with each other. We do ask that no conversations about politics devhttps://www.caravanclub.co.uk/overseas-holidays/useful-information/travelling-after-brexit/elop - as you know this can often get heated! As such any political comments will be removed but we would really appreciate any constructive comments and information shared.

Margaret and I were today discussing the idea of going to Europe this year as we have skipped a couple of years because of medical issues. Our first choice would be May and June but given all the uncertainty we have decided we will wait until the summer before making a decision about going in September if indeed we decide to go at all this year. I just wonder how many people are in a similar situation? It can't be good for the Clubs Overseas Touring Department!

We cancelled our trip abroad last September due to new grandson and unexpected house move, and this year will be staying in UK as we can only take max 4 week breaks at the moment.

Taking note of all these requirements in case we should venture abroad in 2020.

With pre-existing medical conditions, travelling abroad may become too expensive for us.

Well all I can say is we still plan to go the third week of April, but  this time last year the tunnel, Dart crossing, Red Pennant and Blackhorse farm had all been arranged, so far this year ........ nothing as yet😤

If it drags on too long with consequences we will do as you may and go towards the end of the summer.

We normally go in April but due to other commitments we have to go in in July/August.  Nothing to do with Brexit.

Same as you David. We have been May/June for years but having renewed our passports and got our IDPs just in case we are now going to wait and see what happens. What do we fear? I don't know really, apart from general chaos at the ports where no one knows what they are doing, but knowing that we can book a ferry Calais/Dover and RP insurance within a couple of days of leaving I am in no hurry to commit.

Why all the concern, what is the worse that can happen?

I'm genuinely interested in what you fear and what would stop you from going.

There is no "fear" attached to it at all but just the noise around the issue of us leaving the EU. We have had so many years of trouble free touring in Europe and only now are we having to think about whether we have the right paperwork, whether we have enough time left on our passport, how long can we stay, how much my pound will buy, etc. Personally I will wait for it all to calm down. We have toured in Europe since 1987 so it's no hardship for us to tour in the UK until the  mess is sorted out, if it ever is!
