Caravan club Wi-Fi is rubbish

When will the club get the Wi-Fi sorted? Once again I have purchased time and am finding it impossible to log out of one device to use another. What is all this log out nonsense? Surely you should be able to just disconnect on one device and then connect on another. I keep wasting expensive minutes trying to log out.

Wow! 😂

With data being as cheap as chips these days, it makes sense to me. The only drawback is if you end up on a site with no mobi signal but they’re few and far between.

"….it makes sense to me to use the mobile network."

Don't know what happened there.🤷🏻‍♂️

Like many now, I expect, we use our phone data allowance to use the internet whilst on sites. Margaret and I are on different networks so there are not many places where we can't get a reasonable signal. The difficulty is the odd sites where there is no signal on either network when you are forced to make the decision on whether to buy WiFi time or not. Because the short term cost is relatively expensive we tend to vote with our feet and wait until we go out for the day to conduct any business that needs attention via the internet.

It’s even easier to use the mobile network and tether other devices to your phone.👍🏻

....which is what I do.  When I replaced my phone, the cheapest deal I could get on the phone I wanted came bundled with 100gb per month...  I've never bothered with Air Angel Internet, although it is possible to access the CAMC website for free (including Club Together)

In 9 weeks away abroad through France, Germany and Spain we never once had a problem getting a phone signal.

On our first night back in the UK we stayed at  Blackhorse farm in Folkstone. Neither of us got a phone signal (different networks) surprised not many sites but there are some.

Yes it was good to be back laughinglaughing

We signed up in November, its terrible. Didnt stay connected long enough to send emails, let alone work remotely. Which is why we signed up.

Has anyone got a refund?

Like many others, I think that the wifi provision is extremely poor. I recently paid for a week of access, and managed a total of something like 25 minutes on two different sites - eventually giving up with it, and having to use 4G data.

Air Angel must be laughing all the way to the bank, as the assistance offered was as good as useless - "There are too many customers on the site connecting at the same time"  (this on the Centenary flagship site!) Surely the provision must be on the basis of a large proportion connecting, given how much equipment is now reliant on wifi.

We had spent the previous week in the north east, using sites belonging to another well known camping club, where the Wifi worked seamlessly on 3 sites with no problems. If they can do it, why not CAMC?

Time for some radical redesign and move into the 21st century, rather than hoping the minimum standard will be acceptable !
