Caravan club Wi-Fi is rubbish

When will the club get the Wi-Fi sorted? Once again I have purchased time and am finding it impossible to log out of one device to use another. What is all this log out nonsense? Surely you should be able to just disconnect on one device and then connect on another. I keep wasting expensive minutes trying to log out.

Is Air Angel the problem? I only ask this as we are currently on a CL which part of a much larger enterprise and their free WiFi seems to be working quite well and it is administered by Air Angel. Just a thought?

Hi, apologies if in wrong place. Before heading off on a few months of travels I checked Club website to find Wi-Fi speed for Cayton, (brilliant staff and impressive site btw). Claims to start at 25 Mbps, not too shabby. Checked other sites that I have bookings for, all quite fast. Decided to buy annual £30 package so could continue remote working. Arrived, bought package which when tested using fast.com peaks at 1, yes one Mbps. Checked 4G on mobile, steady 14 Mbps. Is this discrepancy common across all sites? Secondly, anyone got any tips on getting higher speeds out of the Club Wi-Fi? The other club’s Wi-Fi is spot on and much better.

This thread is just one of many on this forum detailing how useless the site wifi is. The overwhelming consensus is that it's not fit for purpose which is why most of us make alternative arrangements.

What a shame you only found out after parting with your hard earned cash.😕

It's funny isn't it TW that we are often told that members views on this forum are noted by management but the fact that this type of thread comes around about as often as a No.10 booze-up means that if they did notice them they are determined to ignore them.

The whole web issue with the club is sub standard but will continue to be so as any attempt to complain falls on deaf ears.

We know CAMC isn’t good at communications, WN, and this is demonstrated in their lack of response to members, lack of provision of an efficient web based forum and lack of effective site wifi. They stick their fingers in their ears and hope we'll all go away. Err, aren’t we the very folk who fund the club?🤔

I believe gold and silver sites vary the bandwidth available, dependent on the load. Back when we were using it, arriving at Tewkesbury on a Friday shortly after first arrivals, I was surprised to record a download of 14 MB. By 6 / 7 o’clock when the site was rammed, it was down to 1 MB.

I'm amazed that anyone still buys club WiFi these days, with data packages so cheap on mobiles now.

I'm paying £10 a month and getting 60gbs free calls, free texts, no contract.

Even here in rural France I've got a great signal no roaming charges but held to 12gb a month.

Why pay for a poor sub standard service.

We were in The  New forest Centennary site a couple of weeks ago. We were 50 yards away from the mast the only thing that was in the way were trees seperation us from the next pitches. Signal strength was around 25mb to 45mb you would get a connection then all of a sudden it would go off then you would have to reset it and try again, thia would happen continually. What a pathethic connection. What a waste of time.

Just a thought trees contain water which will absorb microwaves and that's how your microwave oven works also if the site is full and we are 60% water so there is your problem wink

Its not all rubbish. Just returned from the Knaresborough site. Due to poor 4g reception and inability to get a TV signal (amplifier packed up) I paid for camp wifi for the first time , not expecting much.

On the contrary, we had a strong signal and I ran a speed test on my phone - download speed of 46mbs. We were able to watch all TV channels on my Amazon Fire stick with no buffering.

Well yes, but unfortunately the signals in the UK lack far behind those in France.
