I read elsewhere that C&CC are closing some sites and cancelling people’s bookings due to staff shortages. Sure enough, it's true and they've updated their website today. I hope nobody here is affected.

Suits us and many others a lot younger just fine. Are staff on commercial sites paid a lot more? They certainly aren’t at many hotels and other leisure industry suppliers. We don’t have a dog by the way. 😀 Plus do young families not wash. 😂 I would have thought the family washroom very relevant.

The standards of washing facilities in the UK aren’t as stellar as many fondly imagine.

Having wardens " holding my hand" hasn't been a USP to me and without going into detail if it was I would have been disappointed at times.  I have used literally hundreds of sites run on the type of model described by ET finding them perfectly  satisfactory .  Further on a couple occasions when difficulties arose we were helped out  with kindness and efficiency.

Madness man! Madness!

Next You will be expecting receptions manned full time 8am to 10pm 7 days a week by multi lingual staff, and the site maintenance man in his Kawasaki Mule to turn up if there is a technical problem on site!

What next! Freshly baked bread and croissants each morning at reception or the site shop? That’s the path to anarchy!

Harry, you do seem to be getting het up about things. You've said you don't use CAMC sites and the thread is about C&CC sites closing so I'm wondering what your issue is. 🤷‍♂️

No but Natterer See is exceptional, many of us have stayed there and many other Continental sites.

Surprised to hear that Hertford is now closed but will open again in November.  It is a huge site and was well occupied over the weekend especially, we were there for a few days earlier this month.

Yes I was too Kj, it probably requires quite a number of staff to run it. The one we know from personal use is Slindon, a lovely litle site.

I’d rate the ‘exceptional facilities’ on the two big UK ‘club’ sites about or par with a typical EU family run site. Go to one of the big European chain or resort sites and it’s a whole different ball game. The ‘hobby job’ shops on U.K. club sites is distinctly odd in the 21st century.

Nope, not get up at all, I just find the curious employment model the club sites use rather outdated, all seems a bit indentured servitude hobby job rather than that of  a professional industry.
