Have CAMC over priced some sites

Just stayed mid August on the Chatsworth site costing over £35 per night for two people  on a standard pitch. During the week there were many unused pitches and even at weekends there were several not taken. Very few children and those there seemed to be with grandparents. August has to be the busiest month and previously you had to book Chatsworth well in advance to  have any hope of getting a pitch. A very nice site with superb wardens but it would seemed getting far too expensive. Surely better to charge less and fill a site to maintain profit margins than overprice and have reduced members attending.

Oh come you lot another thread closed because of the usual banter stuff, no need.

At this time in my life I dont go abroad, I choose not to, but I do read practically everything that's posted on the topic, caravans especially but MH stuff too. I want good and bad, I can make my own mind up, just.

I'll probably semi retire in the not too distant future, then one plan is I tow caravan foreign parts, Michelle who will still be working, then flies out for a fortnight, 4 week gap or so, flies out again for same, I return later on.

Which reverts back to this thread, UK cost's have risen beyond what the touring population want to pay, are caravan sales still booming?

The club has always been expensive, again I left 3 years ago, very happy to stay, but felt I was being ripped off for my York weekend breaks, and that was because of an extension of peak! Only back because of 1 site in February.

Booked another site because of booking protocols. Will I honour the final booking? Weather dependent. Will I rejoin? dunno yet.

Do I represent a typical group within us? You decide.

Maybe some? of the tiny minority who post on here ,but the sites we have been on this year do not seem to  follow,as they have been busy especially at the weekend,

Due to time constraints as my OH gives about 40hours a week looking after other people’s children as a cub and beaver leader we can only tour abroad in school holidays. That being the case it’s usually Easter and Summer so Mid season and high season prices. When I read posts of 90 days of course I’m a little envious as there are so many places we want to go.

Imagine a working family reading some posts on here and thinking great we can spend our precious summer holiday on a full amenities site for little more €22\night to find it’s actually going to cost somewhere between $30 and €50 +/night plus insurance/ferries etc.

In 2 days we have travelled 400 miles but fortunately, in Germany, diesel is only £1.08/Ltr

I know to include the "On" costs for some over their post's, I'm pretty sure others do too.

Internet.

But named sites, named night fees, are hugely beneficial to the likes of me who are in the planning stage for the future of over their caravaning.

That's if we decide to stick with the fixed bed caravan, (hence a dinky one, as a maybe) its just as easy now to book european holiday homes, cheap to expensive.

so all you can say is that it is a concern on members on this forum, are you trying to extrapolate that into all members, remember what JK said about what really happens, complaints from members about prices are very low.
