Caravanning, Motorhoming and Camping are wonderful ways to take our dogs on holiday with us. This discussion is a place to share advice about holidaying with your dogs.

Please note, this is not a place to complain about dogs on campsites. We do fully understand that there can be issues and we would request that you please report these to us via our complaints and compliments for Club Campsites (link below) and please do not misuse Club Together as a channel for complaint. By sending via the appropriate channels your complaint will be logged and dealt with appropriately.

If you do post a complaint we will remove it and ask that people do not respond but report to us. Many thanks.

Report a complaint about dogs HERE (please don't post on Club Together).

Thank you everyone and happy touring! smile

The Visiting Club Sites With Dogs leaflet says something very similar and that fact applies to the wider world and the population as a whole. I think all responsible owners accept that.

Maybe this is an opportunity to link to the leaflet for anyone who's not read it.

I always thought this leaflet was given to all dog owners on arrival as I've mentioned before I've never been asked if I have dog, this leaflet gives clear guidance in a sensible way without being intrusive and should be highlighted in the booking process, I'm sure the club could do more to ensure dog owners and non owners coexist without friction, I've deliberately used dog owners and not dog lovers as lots of people love dogs but are not owners for various reasons, I'm one of them.

When we used to use CAMC sites we were nearly always asked if we had a dog and often the leaflets were forced upon us even though we'd collected dozens of them. It’s a shame if site staff no longer hand them out and instead rely on folk looking up the pet rules online or in the handbook. Might it be worth you flagging that issue to HQ do you think?

Yep, I’m a dog lover without a dog too and it was 7 years ago this week that our lad gave the last wag of his tail.

Gosh Tinny, those seven years have flown by.

Like you, we were often handed a Dogs on Site leaflet. Most of the information is common sense and what any decent minded owner would do as a matter of good dog ownership.

They have indeed flown but I still look for him on his favourite settee.

We were asked more times than not and at Penrhos the wardens even gave us a book of walks on Anglesey which we used to great effect. smile

Yes, to not be asked was the exception. 👍🏻
