Caravanning, Motorhoming and Camping are wonderful ways to take our dogs on holiday with us. This discussion is a place to share advice about holidaying with your dogs.

Please note, this is not a place to complain about dogs on campsites. We do fully understand that there can be issues and we would request that you please report these to us via our complaints and compliments for Club Campsites (link below) and please do not misuse Club Together as a channel for complaint. By sending via the appropriate channels your complaint will be logged and dealt with appropriately.

If you do post a complaint we will remove it and ask that people do not respond but report to us. Many thanks.

Report a complaint about dogs HERE (please don't post on Club Together).

Thank you everyone and happy touring! smile

The incident Arch described, and maybe what Dooby is also alluding to, does in fact breach site rules.

Did you approach the site warden, Arch? it’s the first thing to do if something causes annoyance and disturbing your peace was surely that. No one is expected to tolerate bad behaviour from others on site. I again refer to Rowena's guidance on what to do if a further complaint is needed.

We've just returned from a 2 week stay on a club site up until 3 days before we left everyone was happy and all other dogs  well behaved then a unit pitched up proceeded to erect a purpose made run at the rear of the pitch which was then the area for 5 west Highland terriers to run, they never stopped yapping at anything that moved from morning till night setting off all the dogs who until then had been well behaved, the owner of the terriers seemed totally oblivious to the noise, in my opinion packs of dogs should not be allowed on club sites surety other members have a right to some peace.

Might just be me but I would have clocked that dog run and kept an eye on it. I would have also expected anyone inconvenienced by those yapping dogs to have come to site reception for a word. Did you speak to the staff with your concerns?  Everyone's entitled to enjoy their away time in any way they choose on site, it's those inconsiderate me me me selfish few that spoil it. We as site staff are there for such occasions, just come and have a word. Just for info, we all have a sites handbook which contain the sites rules and bye laws, while there's no rule for the number of pets allowed there is one for member behaviour.

How many dogs make a pack?

We have joined the CCC this year for the first time.  As it so happens we have stayed at three of their Club sites. Many units have had dog(s). But not once have we been disturbed by yapping/barking dogs. On one occasion the warden told owners to ensure dog was on a lead, even on the pitch (quite right). I know others describe the CAMC as a branch of the kennel club, for the number of dogs found on sites. One of the reasons we are reluctant to even consider CAMC sites is that every time we have visited  a site in recent years we have been disturbed by yapping/barking dogs. And yes, on occasion we have commented to the wardens, but it doesnt stop.
