I haven't seen any confirmation or otherwise regarding this but have just read it on Faceache with a date of 25th June being, allegedly, given by a member of site staff for implementation.

UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON BOOKINGS

We are normally able to book for next June from today.
However this isn’t possible as the website is moving over to deposits in the next couple of weeks.
So at this time we cannot book anything for next June until the system is live.

I can see the logic WN, those who've booked lots of short breaks on the "off chance" will now be faced with a reality check, do they firm up their bookings with a deposit and choose a hardstanding etc. I believe everyone will get the opportunity to change advance bookings, for a fee...?!

This is quite an undertaking I don't envy this stage of the roll out for all concerned.

Brue, most data cutovers will be done by a conversion program(s) changing the old format and collecting whatever extra data fields are necessary to support what's required (extra functionality) for the new system.

these programs, while they may often be complex in some systems , probably won't be here...the data is all customer/site/calendar based, most of it already there...

anyway, all this should have been built and thoroughly tested a good while back with the whole of the cutover process rehearsed, probably more than once.

so, on D Day, these programs will run in the live environment and while it's often stressful cutting the data over, 'the undertaking' (cutover program build) will have already been undertaken.

Perhaps the club realise that when faced with the knowledge you've been allocated a grass pitch some will cancel the booking, so the club would rather risk loosing a couple of nights booking than say a 2 week booking

Arch, you’re making the mistake of applying deep logic to the club's illogical actions😂

  • Just had a text from a site manager who advised that all sites will have to have larger monitor as the new system needs a larger screen for it to show the new system and those that have received them they have found new fittings will be required as they do not fit the old monitor sockets as out of datesurprised

Just checking my emails at Weatherby services and I have one from the club saying my bookings are being transferred to the new system in the next few days.

(Sorry if this has already been mentioned here or elsewhere)
