I know a few members are like us and mix in a few none Club Sites into a tour. Thought I would open up a thread for folks to post website links to any nice sites they come across, that might interest others.

This one to start with http://www.thamesheadinn.co.uk/camping-caravan-sites-cirencester-glos.html

Just off A433 few miles from Cirencester, so ideal for Cotswolds area. Plenty to see and do in area, Pub is nice for food.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is for posting links and/or reviews.  Please don't use it to discuss the merits, or otherwise, of other people's choices.

Thank You.

I had a round robin email from Cuckoo's Corner the other day explaining they had been 'struck off' the CL list for having too many pitches but were continuing as a commercial site. It was a bit confusing as he said they had always had that number of pitches and couldn’t understand why the club was now withdrawing the CL status. Make of it what you will. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The same thing happen to Low Hedgeley a couple of years ago ( talking to the owner this evening), so he applied for planning permission for a 10 pitch commercial site and got it.

Stayed at Severn Gorge Campsite last month.  Small touring area on a static site, 5 mins from centre of Telford, or Blists Hill Museum, and only a short drive to Ironbridge.

Lovely roomy shower areas, laundry etc.  No dog walk but the entrance lane leads to woodland.  Hard standings, water tap and drain at each pitch and all for £20 per night.

May I add the following superb site weve used for several visits to the Lakes

http://www.threlkeldhalltouringsite.co.uk/

It is easily reached off the A66 and is nestled just below Blencathra for a good days walking.

The village is 10 mins walk away with 3 great pubs serving meals (the burgers at the 'Sally' are really great.

Unfortunately the railway path that rund from near the site through to Keswick was very badly damaged by the floods of 2015, however work is underway to reopen it soon

Brian, looks a nice site. There is this picture on the gallery section of their website.

Thanks SteveL

I've seen the images from the website there are a couple of years old there are 16 new pitches added. I wanted to see if anybody had been there this year with current pictures. Has the grass in the middle of the image still there or are there pitches.

Brian.
