I know a few members are like us and mix in a few none Club Sites into a tour. Thought I would open up a thread for folks to post website links to any nice sites they come across, that might interest others.

This one to start with http://www.thamesheadinn.co.uk/camping-caravan-sites-cirencester-glos.html

Just off A433 few miles from Cirencester, so ideal for Cotswolds area. Plenty to see and do in area, Pub is nice for food.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is for posting links and/or reviews.  Please don't use it to discuss the merits, or otherwise, of other people's choices.

Thank You.

Did not know re this post but here goes 1 for you moulesy.

Killiwerris https://www.killiwerris.co.uk/

Steve & Josie have owned the site since 2020 and have made substantial changes, they live on site

not visited this site since before covid but will be back from Spain next week so will be visiting Fri 12th May thru 22nd May, very small, 17 pitches, tranquil site very dog friendly, up to 2 go free.

Not sure it would be good for large MH,s as you need transport to get around, St Agnes ,Perranporth, Crantock 10 - 20 minutes drive and i believe we visited a club site which over looks the beach, Godrevy ?

there is a static caravan in the house grounds and an apartment adjacent to the house, they now do Yoga classes daily and have a deal with an ebike rental company who will deliver and collect, £30 per day, not sure how that stacks up and not sure how safe the roads are in the area for bikes.

pitch fees vary £30 - £35, but some months they do a 7 day deal for £200

Shame on you, Mikey!  wink

You've done what I believe some call the "nit-picking" thing. It'll give 'em an excuse to say "told you so - I'm not naming my site (na-na-na-na-nah!) laughing

But, on a serious note, for a "full fat" site in open countryside,  with the river Wharfe and the Dales Way  right on the doorstep I'm thinking it's worth the price! πŸ‘

For anyone wanting a full facility site in the grounds of an historic property in Cheshire, and close to numerous other such properties both N/T and HHA, this one is ideal, Capesthorne Hall.  It has about 50 pitches, both grass and hardstanding, with EHU and limited wifi. The price is, at present, £27:50 pn but rises to £35 during Bank Holidays (minimum 3 night stay).

Think I might have mentioned this one last year, but doesn't harm to give it another plug.

On the village border of Great and Little Longstones - walking distance to both villages and up to Monsal Head. 3 good pubs within walking distance (take a torch at night!), farm shop on site and local shop in GL.

Just down the road from the CAMC site at West Ayton Scarborough is a private site that looked appealing when seen from a distance. Having had a look at prices for the 2 days following today the club site works out at £83.40 for standard H/S and St.Helens works out to £50 plus metered electric with maybe a discount if 1 member an OAP, plus free wifi. The website seems to show it in good light and certainly on a par with the club site.

So, although I haven't sampled the wares so to speak, I would seriously consider it if my preferred CLs were not available.

Summerlands Caravan Park (College Farm)

Small well kept grass site with clean facilities. 16 amp EHU pitches also some non elec pitches. Off road tracks/byways direct from site.  A place to chill/walk/cycle or tour the local area from Salisbury to the coast.  No pub/shop within easy walking distance - Its downhill there so uphill coming back. Did get busy at week-end.  Off A354 just south of Coombe Bissett- Salisbury.  Good VFM IMO.
