Right  now  I'm  celebrating  the  fact  that  I  didn't  get  SKY  so  I  could  watch ( so  very  nearly  said  enjoy yell)  the  England  v West Indies  test  cricket.  After  all  the  wonderful  reports  of  how  the  team  is  building  up  into  a  World  Beating  Side  it  seems  that  it's  just  another  race  to  the  pits.  I'm  getting  the  feeling  that  watching  Sunday  football  between  a  couple  of  over age  pub  teams  will  bring  much  more  excitement  &  pleasure  until  Easter Egg  Rolling  commences  wink

I think the best England can hope for now is a bit of decent batting practice before the day/night test that's coming up .🏏😒😒.

Jonray,  can you tell me how to get that big blob advert on the screen please,  it has been appalling to watch apart from some decent wicket keeping.frown

I suppose its my own fault for wearing an England rugger shirt yell

That ruddy 'blob' has been catching my eyeline all through this coverage and obviously it's affecting our batsmen now too!

Not been a great few days watching our national teams at cricket and rugby, but onwards and upwards. (My rugby shirt is now in the laundry, hopefully it'll wash away poor performances)

8 days to recover and not set the alarm. laughing

CH4 up and running as I slowly scrubbed up this morning, only to watch Sibley give a catch to slip and Jonny Bairstow to miss a straight one so LBW  ~~ 2 wickets down for 27 runs.

What odds on the toast burning I ask myself cry.

Is there any chance of an earthquake, please, please, Pretty please ??

Browsing around during this 'ere meal break I re-read the Original Post on here, only thing I would change today is the removal of the word " WEST " ~~ seems I was a mite smarter when I wrote it, snivel, sniff, sob, sob, sob.

Just seen the ground staff filling in a dgb pothole in the bowlers front foot landing area, so I assume that will have to suffice today for Brian's "Earthquake" frown

Is that an 'earthquake enhancer' the ground staff are currently battering the popping crease with??!!

I'm confused with the names of the breaks too: teatime dinner or dinner at tea time, not to mention supper and when's breakfast?? Test match cricket used to be so simple and someone also forgot to put rupees in the electric meter.

With a pitch which is turning more than a turntable on day one, will England rue the omission of at least one additional spinner - particularly when the 'tail' are now only worth a dozen runs?

Just seen Jack Leach 'turn' one -- took off at about 50* to the horizontal AND vertical ~~ scary !!

They thought that having three keepers** and one spinner ( + Root ) is the same as having one keeper and three frontline spinners -- WRONG  again !!

** Three keepers -- Pope, Bairstow & Foakes

P.S.  -- No, JR,  it's just a flat  Indian version of the Road Menders 'punner'  Honest smile

I'm glad Pope isn't keeping wicket after seeing him down Kohli off Anderson in the slips, the 'extras' column would be gigantic! What a dolly and he drops it!

Thankfully Kohli did the job for us a couple of overs later, playing on.

Indians very much on top, intriguing day tomorrow ☺️

Kohli didn't last tho, JR, nor did Rahane and Rohit has just gone as well~~ L B W to Leach -- hit on his lower right hand rib cage trying to send the ball to Aston Juxta Mondrum **  for a 6 !! ( i.e. a dgb slog to cow corner !! laughing  ) And Root 'roots out' Mr R Pant with his first ball today !surprised
