Right  now  I'm  celebrating  the  fact  that  I  didn't  get  SKY  so  I  could  watch ( so  very  nearly  said  enjoy yell)  the  England  v West Indies  test  cricket.  After  all  the  wonderful  reports  of  how  the  team  is  building  up  into  a  World  Beating  Side  it  seems  that  it's  just  another  race  to  the  pits.  I'm  getting  the  feeling  that  watching  Sunday  football  between  a  couple  of  over age  pub  teams  will  bring  much  more  excitement  &  pleasure  until  Easter Egg  Rolling  commences  wink

We've sent Moeen home to recover after one game, but he was "Bought" for £ 700,000**  in the Selection Process for the Indian  Premier League, their version of the Big Bash, so they don't think he's that bad on Indian tracks !

** something like70 million Rupees I understand

Brian , the synic in me thinks Moeen Ali just wants to cherry pick which England games he attends .He  goes home after one test for the benefit of his mental health and to spend time with his family ,but the minute the IPL comes calling he appears happy to be away for a couple of months !!. Personally I think the ECB should remove his central contract and give the young up and coming spinners more game time . They are England's future .🏏🏏.

I think your point is well made Trellis. The biggest problem i see, however, is that these 'young and up and coming' spinners being selected in the first place. Mr Root has a large say in team selection and obviously got it very wrong in the last Test. Tomorrow, on the same square, it will be interesting to see how many of the seamers get picked (rested is the modern phrase, I believe) particularly as the current crop are unable to amass 10 runs between them. If Root can achieve 5-8, the inclusion of Bess and Parkinson (for example) could mean we get the Indians all out for 20 (in each innings) thus ensuring a famous England victory!! laughing My figures assume England will get 41 runs in extras! Roll on tomorrow laughing

Wow! England 74-3 at lunch. Recovered from 30-3 and possibly another dribbling 🤞

Looking like it's going to be the sixth consecutive innings when England fail to pass 200. 😯😡 Currently 174-7 (nearly 8 down) We need the services of a good batting coach
