The Real World Cup is already into its second week and some enthralling, thrilling rugby has been displayed.

A couple of upsets already, namely Fiji's loss, but none more so than the host nation's win against Ireland! What a win, what a game, what a performance! Fantastic rugby

I don’t think luck had much to do with it. SA outplayed us and were the better team on the day.

Well done England on reaching the final and congrats to SA on winning.

I don’t think luck had much to do with it either wink

Well, that was disappointing, but congratulations to South Africa. There was a point in the second half it looked like we might get the upper hand, but it was soon snuffed out. Bad luck England, but were beaten by the better team, no complaint.

Sadly, I have to admit that we were beaten by the Better Side.  No Luck involved at all,  SA were just that bit too good for us, I'm afraid.

( So now it's back to Kick Ball at Gresty Road this afternoon wink  )

Bit disappointed by attitude of English team, in taking off and discarding their medals. Beaten by a far better team , who did to them what they did to NZ. However the NZ team on coming third were really pleased to receive their medals, and enjoyed the moment.

Sad though the loss was for me, I can't see that England winning would have had quite the same effect on our Nation as that win will have on the Rainbow Nation that is South Africa. Well done, I'm now happy for them.smile

I see our friends north of the border have incurred a fine of £75000 and are to apologise for their legal threats during the competition. Hopefully it will draw a line under the affair and be forgotten as quickly as the final.

Thank you again Japan for the wonderful tournament you staged, the style of rugby you played and the respect you showed the world

Fully agree, the rugby elite now need to stand up and support Nippon develop to the highest standard as this tournament was, due to their efforts, such a resounding success.smile

Just a shame that, so quickly after that brilliant tournament, English club rugby is under a cloud with Saracens being found guilty of financial skullduggery. Very impressed with the reaction by Exeter's owner but, really, do we need rugby going down the same road as football (soccer!) undecided

Quite agree Moulesy. Maybe those in charge at Saracens think the salary cap doesn't apply to them - or perhaps they think like our politicians? Can of worms springs to mind.
