April  starts  the  season  of  'Osprey  hunting'    for  me .

So  off  to  RSPB  Loch  Garten,  on-line  of  course,  and  the  sites  up, just  about,  but  no  Ospreys  as  yet.

So  over  to  Scottish  Wildlife Trusts  "Loch  of  The  Lowes"  Website  and,  and    Surprised  not  one  but  two  Ospreys  &  mating  in  full  view  of  the  cameras  !  Its  not  the  aged  "Lady"  but  a  new  female  now  in  residence,  so  we'll  have  to  see  if  the  old  girl  turns  up  at  all.  Well  she  is  believed  to  be  in  the  high  twenties  now,  darn  near  Geriatric  as  far  as  Ospreys  go !  I  understand  Rutland  has  a  number  of  arrivals   so  I  must  keep  watching  Loch  Garten  for  more  tales  of  Bad Bird  Behaviour  !!

Brian, just a quick update. Osprey LM12 arrived back at the Loch of the Lowes next yesterday at 5pm, at the start of his 10th season there. It was the same date as he came back last year!!

Threaves Castle's male Osprey, Black 80, arrived yesterday, one day later than last year. His mate, Blue KC, is due to arrive tomorrow if she come the same day as last year.

Lots of sightings over the last couple of days of others flying through, including at Leighton Moss, and Wareham Channel

And you'll be able to dash off and see them arriving at their nest.

But only if the relevant First Ministers allow " Open Borders " again --

I just fancy a trip out to Morrisons in Fort Bill, and sitting on their car park eating a Cornish Pasty & looking up at Ben Nevis and remembering when I went up & down that before lunch,  Then woke up to a cold cup of tea !!

Was passing Brenig reservoir yesterday and could see the Osprey nest has been taken over by black backed gull. Same happened last year.

More nests being occupied, Dylan arrived at Clywedog yesterday evening, 12 days earlier than last year, and MrsG returned to Glaslyn at 8:45 this morning, 4 days later than in 2020. At the Loch of the Lowes the pair are together again with the arrival of Blue NC0 this lunchtime.

Just need the Kielder, Dyfi, Llyn Brenig, Foulshaw, and the Loch Garten Ospreys to put in an appearance

And I read that a clutch of RHEAs are terrorising part of Hertfordshire,  Threatened with capture & internment in some Bird Sanctuary if they can be caught  wink { Why does Brian think a few bobbies will need a course of sprint - training  }
