Corona Virus Concerns

As the other (Stay or go) thread appears to be locked, I've started this one. There is no specific subject matter so hopefully everyone can continue to update others as to what's happening in their lives and areas. I live in the suburbs (but hope to move to rural Northumberland in next few years) and found it really illuminating to hear how those living in rural areas are being affected by issues such as tourists and lack of access to shops etc

As I have said before ' you can drive a horse to water but a pencil must be lead'.

I suspect much opposition by teaching unions.

No the schools are now allowed to be flexible in their approach to children returning. Which makes good sense, finally.

Personally I think that the government should have closed our borders early and insisted on returners quarantining for a period.

We have scientists saying lockdown should have started earlier but given the the growing level of public protest after 7 weeks maybe not.

Me too. Oh there's a slogan 😉

However we are where we are, but I do think a few words that conveyed, we acted on info given at time with the best of intentions but now with hindsight and new information coming through they could have been done a little differently 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 would get folk's attention and possibly assistance.

How many beach/beauty spot visitors/protestors, no comment either way on rights or wrongs timing etc, may have thought more if a certain person was apologetic/acknowledged a serious judgement call might have thought twice?? Again we'll never know. The best way forward is to learn from the past and set an example of how you expect others to behave 😱

One thing we do know for certain that folks don't feel the need to take responsibility for their rubbish let alone their or others health. As someone else said somewhere in this forum not so long ago there were climate protests but that seems to have gone out of the window now by a vast number of folk cos it's me  me, me, me and mine I want, my right etc someone else will sort this mess...........

I think that the words you really should have used are 'This is just an opinion that I disagree with and therefore find offensive'.

Yes, you are quite correct ET.  I should have used the phrasing that you suggest.  I apologize for the offence.  I had only just woken up so was not fully alert.  I must remember to wait awhile before getting involved in future.

It certainly can be classified as name calling ET. Personally I find that offensive.

One less CV19 concern for me, elder daughter has just received results of antibody test and it confirms she has them  and "low " chance of reinfection.

Did she ever think that she had had the coronavirus and if so when. I am sure it has been about a lot longer than what we think.
