yes, with the club, it's only the kids that are charged..but other sites can give flexibility over other key choices, like dogs, awnings, EHU, Hs/grass etc.....which obviously makes them attractive to folk who don't have these things....

Surely the adults are charged for as well. If only one, that's all you pay for. Most other sites charge for 2 or more, at a consequently higher price.

all these 'extras' must be built in to club prices, perhaps it's because the 'typical' cc member has a dog or two, an awning, doesn't like grass, has to have EHU, that the club goes for a one size fits all price....

Is that not what a lot of folk like, me included. I personally  hate companies that try and make something more price attractive, by having lots of optional extras.

sorry Steve, my sloppy English.....

i meant the kids were the only 'item' charged for in my list.....dogs, awnings, EHU are included....

yes, even. I realised we adults have to paywink

ypu may well like the club all-in-one offering but the question I'm  answering refers to flexibility in charging, and items like EHU, dogs, Hs,awnings would not be on my options list, therefore I would much prefer a flexible approach.

when I use CCC I take advantage of their different approach, I choose a grass pitch, no EHU, don't deploy an awning and don't bring dogs....

"Particularly with a motorhome, an electric hookup is not really required unless the customer is staying on site for about 4 days or more"

That's only your opinion, K, not fact. We don’t all share that view.

The words K used are "not really needed" That is certainly true for most if not all motorhomes. It may not be your view TW but it is mine.

And that’s fine, PD, as we all have our views/opinions.

However, the word was "required" rather than "needed" which has a different meaning. It is only a matter of opinion, or preference, whether EHU is "not really required" and not, as I said, a fact.smile

PS. "True of most, if not all MHs" it may be but not of their owners or users I’ll wager.

I have been on some dire sites both here and abroad and none of them were club sites.  The one thing for sure about club sites is there is a standard and we all, well almost all, know what that standard is.

K - a lot of caravans have solar panels as standard, and we don't need to drive around to charge them up surprisedwinkwink

Indeed we do TW and we all have the choice of going elsewhere

I agree completely, PD, but just be careful with that advice which in the recent past has been described as "bullying" and "antagonistic" though it's beyond me why anyone should think so! undecided

Sorry TW didn't mean to change what K had written. Either it was too early in the morning and I was not fully focused or I was too pre-occupied with my own thoughts. Either way in my mind they have the same meaning. Hence the fingers followed my train of thought.

I would have thought instead of the current tariffs, increasing the number of items charged for rather than paying a package fee might benefit those who are complaining of high prices. If there was more opportunity to pick and chose, thereby presenting an opportunity to reduce the nightly fee, it might increase membership and pitch occupancy.

i expect EHU (charged for at rates I've seen between £4 and £8+) is one of the big ticket items and being able to not take this option would make a nge difference, especially in summer where EHU might not be wanted by some....

at a nominal fiver a night that £70 difference in a fortnights holiday.
