Posted on 20/06/2018 15:15 by young thomaswe went to Cambridge a couple of years back and stayed there, bit it was a bit out of season and the grass wasn't open....the HS pitches were all just replaced when we were there. it looked very smart.
we visited Cherry Hinton to see what it was like, possibly the worst site we've seen, certainly the worst CC site we've seen...
dark, dingy, damp and not a patch on the open sunmy aspect of the CCC site.....
IMHO, of course

We went to Cirencester Park last year having previously been with a caravan. The hard standing pitches available sloped so badly we couldn’t get anywhere near level even with ramps. Without doubt the worst sloping pitches we have ever come across in many years of European travels.

You must have been very unlucky, then, H. Was the site very busy? We're you on one of the row of pitches backing into the park and looking across to the cricket pitch? Those are admittedly very sloped but we visit Cirencester very often and we've never had any trouble finding a level HS pitch. In fact I'm at Cirencester right now but on a lovely wide grass pitch with no neighbours either side of me!
PS - this year they've installed a number of large serviced pitches, all HS and billiard table level!

you won't need any sun cream
There is a 'open' part at the top otherwise it's just lanes of trees, have a look at the site plan. If you're there for the walking it's great as a lot of wainwrights can be done from the site, (we did four in one day) but not for staying on site.
