doesnt it go something like......'well, CC must be doing something right as you can't get on their sites'.......or some other similar phrase
M, I also recall such phrases, usually made by CS.
While I am sure the Club is well aware of the C&CC's tariffs and it's profitability, I see nothing wrong in pointing out ones real life experinces rather than conjecture.

Well maybe BB should address his "witticisms" to the relevant quarter rather than putting words into my mouth then, PD.
Not quite sure what your last sentence means since, as I said earlier, we have used many C&CC sites and been impressed with them (that's our real life experience, not conjecture!)

perhaps he should, M..., I'm sure he'll make an extra effort in future..
however, rightly or wrongly, I have you right up there in the vanguard of those who 'sing from the same CC hymn sheet.....'
dont worry about it though, it's only a forum, but in real life we, like your good selves, use the sites that are convenient for our needs.......
however, I (as a paying customer) am perfectly entitled to suggest the price of a CC site is too high....
£33 is a lot for a club site, but we used it as it was convenient and I can comfortably afford to pay.....this has nothing to do with my view that the price is high...
the issue is that, despite those (possibly not you, it seems) who repeatedly tell us club sites are full, despite high prices, there are long standing members also reporting that the limit has been reached and they are, effectively, being priced out of club sites.....
yes, I understand this is today's hard nosed economics and (as the same poster (your mate, apparently) continues to tell us) the club is not a charity, but prices are high and the periods in which the club feel it's right to charge those peak prices has been extended further each year......
hence I like the CCC model where costs can be tempered slightly by choosing a cheaper grass pitch or by foregoing EHU.....options at all their sites, i believe, rather than the very small number of economy pitches across the CC.
So, I'm happy to continue suggesting CC site prices are high and lacking flexibility, which has nothing to do with my ability to pay, merely my (very humble) opinion.....
sorry if you got upset yet again, you do seem very techy lately...

Not upset at all and certainly not techy (sic). And definitely not surprised that rather than genuinely apologising for an error you attempt to deflect it back onto whoever you are trying to pick fault with.
So let me make it absolutely clear since you don't seem to have understood what I said. When we use CAMC sites (remember, less than 50% of the time) we do so because they suit us for location, facilities and price. Still following? We also use C&CC sites, CLs, CSs and private sites, depending on where and when we were going. So you're not the only one who has experience of "other" sites despite your rather frequent claims!

PD, you're normally better than this - jumping onto, or joining the, bandwagon boys
What I have said is that as other people have stated that they cannot get a pitch at certain times the club must be doing something right, however how that translates to club sites being full all the time I really can't fathom.

sorry.....
for the typo.....yes, you're a touch tetchy (sic)....and I guess you're not techy at all?
i thought I did apologise, for upsetting you...couldn't make that much clearer could I?
yes, I often mention my 'experience' of other types of sites mainly as 'certain posters' don't think I'm 'qualified' to make a comment about cc sites....
then, when I do use them, I'm some sort of hypocrite for doing so.....
my point has always been, club sites are expensive.....I sometimes choose to use them, but this doesn't affect my view, but for some, it's beyond a view and is actually starting to affect touring habits....
Corners, did you miss my apology?....it started with the word 'sorry' and was the last line of my previous post and again in the first word of this one......keep up at the back....
I'm sure M spotted it

"...sorry if you got upset again... "
Don't wish to appear churlish, BB, but instead of you implying it was my interpretation which was at fault I was thinking more along the lines of "sorry, I might have been wrong about that" as appropriate!
