Travelling from an area with new restrictions

We live in Huddersfield - part of Kirklees - which was subject to the additional restrictions featured heavily in the news last night (Thursday) and this morning, Friday.  We are booked in at Bridlington next Thursday.

I have examined the restrictions closely and nowhere does it mention a restriction on travelling.  I am aware that if there is a total lockdown (as was in Leicester) sites can legitimately turn away people travelling.  Indeed the Coronavirus FAQ section of the Club website reiterates

I've sent the Club an email but not sure that with volume of calls / emails etc they will get back to me before next week

If anyone from the Club is moderating / monitoring this forum, perhaps it's an idea to post an update to give some reassurance to members travelling from affected areas.

Guess it works the other way as well - what's the guidance for sites open inside the affected areas?  I'm assuming you cannot have other caravanners on your pitch even if they are staying on the same site.  A minefield!

I've 'reported' your post in the hope that somebody from Head Office will be able to offer to further update and/or guidance to travellers.

It puts you in a "no win" situation.  Report and be criticised.  Don't report and be criticised.  All we can hope for is the vast majority of us will comply with whatever restrictions are in place

Its because people as at any time there seems a "problem" will complain on social; media etc ,   then are not prepared to put their heads above the "parapet"     many complained about "problems" go unresolvedundecided

The club has now updated its FAQ page SEE HERE

From what i can see it dosent address your situation directly, but address the opposite situation, i.e. someone from outside the NorthWest coming to a site within the NorthWest area where new restrictions are now in force.

Hi everyone,

Further to local lockdown in the North West and West Yorkshire, you can still arrive and stay on our Club sites. All social distancing guidance needs to be adhered to and there may be local restrictions in place so please check our FAQs for further information:

The Club has now updated it's Coronavirus FAQs addressing both travel from and to affected areas.  Thanks guys for all your input and thanks to the CAMC team for moving quickly to clarify this

Thanks, Rowena, that’s good news. Fingers crossed that our booked trip to the Club’s site at Kendal will go ahead. ( we live in Pendle Borough). But we don’t go until 7th Aug, so anything could happen before then!

We live in Greater Manchester but in a LA area that has the second lowest current rates of positive tests in the northwest (Current rate is 8 per 100k), yet we are lumped together with the other 9 LAs in Greater Manchester.  Just hope other campsite operators don’t take an unreasonable approach.

Because of the blanket nature (geographically) of the restrictions it's impossible to expect site managers to allow selective interpretation.  We too are in the same situation - the rates in North Kirklees are far higher than our part and are driving the averages up.  The problem is you see every day complacency starting to creep in

I agree with you, there has, and will always be people who ignore the rules, even when the rules are clear.

It sounds like your neighbours are continuing to believe the rules are for everyone else but them.

... and the other neighbour had her grand parents round, presumably organised previously  ..... Of all people to know the 'rules' they should as his Mum is a copper! 🀷‍♂️

As it turns out, we will have our grand daughter as everyone is back to work now (poor kid has mummy & her partner and daddy & his partner)

Government furlough has apparently come to an end, kids are still off school .. what does the gov think all these kids will do? Stay at home on their own perhaps? Or do as life before Covid & be looked after their g/parents while their parents are going to work to keep a roof over their heads

I'm guessing you live in the area where I work .... under the shadow of a huge 57! πŸ˜‰
