Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

To find out more about this member offer visit My Esso Card Member Offer on the Club website

It’s great to see some new posters taking part in the forum, Brian. Long may they continue posting.

Hi everyone, The My Esso Card website has been unavailable temporarily due to site maintenance and during this time has defaulted to the Pump King website.  Please note you can still access your My Esso Card account by visiting https://pump-king.co.uk/welcome and can continue to use your My Esso Card.

PK Fuel Limited and My Esso Card apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Any company that doesn't even put up a maintenance / redirection page is creating the impression of a fly-by-night bunch of amateurs.

Now, I may be doing them a dis-service and if so then I shall enjoy a large dollop of custard on my humble-pie in due course.

Their system allows you to change payment card details, but not much else. Cannot even change mobile number, address etc. Basic personal data changes that should be possible for any scheme like this.

I waited about 8 weeks to receive the card I used it today for the first time. I generally use a supermarket but thought I'd give the expensive Esso station a go. I put £92 worth of diesel in and that's exactly what I was charged. It's not clear how this works maybe it's discounted before it's taken from my card? If not I'll not be using it again. Living in Bath the fuel is always expensive as Esso have driven all the smaller operators out so with only 3 filling stations in the city they charge what they like.

jujake, your till receipt will show what the true price would be before the discount, you will find that what is taken from your bank reflects the ltrs x the price indicated each Friday by essocard for the relevant fuel. Yes this promotion has been a shambles, however, I seem to be one of the lucky ones who got a card reasonably promptly and have used it 3 times without problems.

I think people should remember that we do not all live close to supermarkets who can discount fuel because of the large volumes they sell and use it as a tool to get you into their stores, nor do we live close to cut price garages, but as for me, I have 2 Esso stations within spitting distance, and due to family comitments use quite a bit of fuel. Each to their own.

there are a number of members on this forum banging on about how useless the card is or how poor the roll out has been, but a number made it quite clear at the onset that they were not interested in the card so why they keep stoking the flames i really dont know.

Average saving of 6p a litre for us.  In the meantime Morrisons were doing a deal that if you spent £50 on groceries you would get £0.10 off a litre.  Also the Gulf service station about 8 miles from us their price has been constant at £1.26 for the same period.

It would be very nice if someone at the C C came back to us regarding the changed T& Cs.

We live in a high fuel price area so any discount is welcome. Even with this weeks price it is still cheaper the Morrison’s our only supermarket. Appreciate promotion has got of to a shaky start but let’s hope it will settle down and work out OK (always the optimist). It is not often we can make use if CMHC offers due to our location

Seems the price is increasing and the savings are getting less.  I am beginning to think it may have been one way to mine our data to sell onto a third parties?  We have cancelled and have requested a new debit card tor replace the old one as we are very concerned having had our account double dipped plus many years ago an unauthorised withdrawal.

Surfer,

I am beginning to think it may have been one way to mine our data to sell onto a third parties?

never had the experience of having my card misused, however, if you have ever bought anything online, used paypal, given your card details out on the telephone when purchasing insurance etc., then you are vunerable.

have your ever thought about what happens to those customer friendly tape recordings that are made, which they keep for 12 months, somewhere in the icloud, when you make a purchase over the telephone giving your card details, not all employ technology whereby you tap in your card details using the telephone keypad. There is an article in the press today, headline "Major banks are hit by IT glitches every single week" as we all know from the horror stories, yes somebody will get scammed using this card no doubt, but there are thousands out there already using this card, it is not just a CAMHC card.
