A Little Gem

The site is the top corner of a large field, fenced off from the rest of the field where sheep and horses graze, adding interest. The view to the south is an attractive open view over Cornwall's Clay Country. The site is level, which makes for easy pitching. Easily accessed from the A30, yet far enough away that road noise is not a problem, the site is ideally placed for driving to anywhere in Cornwall. A great get-away-from-it-all, a few hundred yards from the farmhouse. We stayed for 2 weeks in August and were the only unit on site for the first 12 nights, but we gather from the owner that it gets more use out of the main tourist season. The limited facilities were good - clean dustbin, good pressure from the drinking water tap, chemical toilet emptying point a few yards away from the pitching area through a gate. Bodmin and St Austell are both about 7 miles from site but there is a useful Co-op supermarket less than one and a half miles away at Roche, where you can also catch the bus to either of the above towns. So, if electricity is not essential to you, do give Bawdens Farm a go.
