We've been visiting this site for about 25 years and its still one of the best in the UK with friendly and welcoming owners. We were there again last week (mid February 2013) and the site and surrounding area were wonderful as always. There's no need to use your car once you're there since everything you need is within a few hundred metres of the site. The numerous variety of walks from the site can be extended by using the local buses or ferries. This site is in a small country town and city dwellers may find it a bit of a shock to find that some surrounding roads don't have pavements or street lighting or that many people keep dogs as working animals and not lap dogs. In the evenings, on your short walk to one of the local pubs or restaurants, cross the pedestrian bridge that takes you from the site over the beck. Smell the wood smoke in the air and listen to the owls in the surounding trees or buildings - magic!
