Nice site, shame the owners don't look after the ponies

This is the second review I have left (see the one titled bunnykins). The site was nice but the ponies looked a far cry from the picture shown on the website. They were certainly much thinner and their mane and tails much longer and unkempt. As previously stated, one of the ponies had curled up hooves and was crippled with pain. I and another customer on the site voiced our concerns and I am pleased to say that the owner did call in the farrier. However, I do not feel they took it seriously and I fear that the ponies will still be at risk . The water trough was filthy and the hay rack filled with black hay that had clearly been there a long time. There was very little grass on the field. No supplementary food was given that we saw in the 8 days we were there. I have reported my concerns to the RSPCA. Please, if you use this site, please check on the ponies and in particular, check their feet. Diane Perry 😪

Thank you for taking the time to write to review of our little site.

I feel compelled to comment on Dotty (the pony in question).  As discussed with yourself the farrier was booked in for the Friday and both ponies feet have been trimmed.  You do not mention in your review that we had both had talks with you about Dotty who was born with her feet twisted and we had to have her feet trimmed every 8 weeks or so.   At our request we asked the Horse welfare person for our area to come and have a look at Dotty as you did make us question if she was really OK.  I am happy to give her name and details to you if you contact me to confirm what I about to say is correct and true.  She was more than happy with both ponies welfare both in relation to their care and environment.  In fact her words were "its perfect here for them".

We do care for our ponies and as you were out each day it I feel it is not really fair for you to comment that we don't look after them.  Maisie is 32 years old and Dotty is 20.  We change their straw bedding on a regular basis and I told you that no matter how much hay we put in the rack they dont eat it even in Winter.

I would not usually comment on reviews but this is so serious to our reputation I just felt I had to.  Mandy Eden
