A secure base for relaxing holiday

Just had 10 days on this CL. The site is nicely equipped with what you expect to find on a CL. Ian cuts the grass regularly, so it really is a nice field to make camp on. The power supply is fine, and 3 taps provide convenient access to water while allowing campers to spread about in the field. There's a waste bin, glass, and other recycling. A compost bin would be handy for vegetable waste. Mostly quiet although, as others have said, you can hear odd boy racer but mainly during the evening or weekend. Strong winds were forecast during our stay and while the tall trees in the distance were flailing about, the site itself is well protected with very little noise from the wind. There are no overhanging branches either so nothing to worry about there. The site is also protected by an electrically operated gate. Don't hesitate to ask Mandy if you need more than one means of opening the gate. She seemed happy to oblige. With Mandy and Ian also on site most of the time, your rig feels safe when you leave it for days out. The layby provides a low stress approach to the site allowing you to depart the A44. If you're pulling a twin axle or larger camper, take the turn onto the site nice and wide to avoid clipping the curb. All easy enough if you take your time. We have a dog and I like to run. There's a public footpath adjacent to the site and quiet local roads nearby so we were both happy. I stored a few routes on OS Maps. Also happy were the ponies. Getting on in their years, they were not charging about but certainly seemed content. A lovely CL and a little cheaper than many others nearby.

Nice site, shame the owners don't look after the ponies

This is the second review I have left (see the one titled bunnykins). The site was nice but the ponies looked a far cry from the picture shown on the website. They were certainly much thinner and their mane and tails much longer and unkempt. As previously stated, one of the ponies had curled up hooves and was crippled with pain. I and another customer on the site voiced our concerns and I am pleased to say that the owner did call in the farrier. However, I do not feel they took it seriously and I fear that the ponies will still be at risk . The water trough was filthy and the hay rack filled with black hay that had clearly been there a long time. There was very little grass on the field. No supplementary food was given that we saw in the 8 days we were there. I have reported my concerns to the RSPCA. Please, if you use this site, please check on the ponies and in particular, check their feet. Diane Perry 😪

Bunnykins

Lovely little CL site with EHU on each pitch and one tap shared between 2 pitches. We attached an adaptor to give 2 outlets from the one tap thus making the pitch fully serviced (owners are happy for grey water waste to run in hedge bottom). The pitches are on a slight slope so chocks may be required. Security is good, electric gate accessed from your mobile phone. The only gripe I have, and it's a big gripe as I am an animal lover, is that the two Shetland ponies on site are not cared for. The water trough is filthy and I have not seen the owners attend to them at all. Worst of all, one of the ponies is crippled and can barely walk as she has clearly not seen a farrier in years. Her hooves are curled up and she is clearly in pain. I will be speaking to the owner about this before I leave.

A****

Beautiful little site, hosts were very welcoming, it was lovely and clean. We had lovely chickens a cockerel roaming free and 2 miniature Shetland ponies, which were beautiful and friendly. We would certainly recommend and will definitely stay again.

Long Weekend

We have just stayed at Mandy & Ians CL site 07-11/07/22. This is a beautiful CL with grassed pitches on a gentle slope in places, so chocks might be needed. Water and EHU on each pitch, all nicely spread out. Stones throw from Chipping Norton (5 mins in car). Chickens are free range and appear randomly, all very well behaved and no problem. Mandy & Ian were friendly but not imposing, meaning you can just get on and relax. Yes you can hear the road but only when the odd car/bike goes by with a noisy exhaust. It didn't bother us, we just sat back and relaxed, nice and quiet in the evenings and during the night. As others have said - no facilities but you won't be disappointed if you are happy to use your own shower/toilet. We will definitely be returning. Many thanks to Mandy and Ian

A Little Gem

A gem of a site, a very relaxed welcome from Mandy and Ian. Music to my ears “pitch over there any way you like!” Ponies and chickens provide some entertainment. A good 35 minute walk into Chipping Norton for shops and eateries. We missed the “Rollright Stones” monument which will make for a good excuse to visit again.

A great first CL experience

As an avid club site user we decided to try a CL for a change. This lovely little site in the Cotswolds seemed to fit the bill. No toilets or showers but every pitch has EHU and a tap making it almost a serviced pitch. There is somewhere to dump grey waste and toilet chemical although Grey can go on the grass/hedge. The owners were lovely and made our stay easy. The grass only pitches have a gentle slope so you may need some blocks to level up. The resident Ponys regularly came to the fence to say hello and enjoy a carrot. Security is via a locked gate opened by mobile phone. It has opened our eyes to a world of CLs that we haven't tried before.

Secure and exclusive, handy for amenities.

We stayed for 3 nights very recently, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site is ideally located for the north east Cotswolds, but nowhere is far away. Really liked Chipping Norton. Nice secure site with easy to use gated access as previously mentioned. Great fun to have the hens running about freely too, visiting the vans but without being a problem. The ground isn't quite as level as would be ideal but levelling is almost achievable with wheel chocks (motorhome), and seemingly totally achievable with a caravan. The entrance to the site is from a small layby on the A44, and the turning in from there is best approached from the northwest side (Salford) NOT the Chipping Norton side, simply because a tree makes the turning to the site from the layby very narrow and sharp otherwise. We have an 8m motorhome with tow car and managed the turn ok, but only just. Mandy is friendly and helpful throughout but at the same time does not intrude at all. We would return when next visiting this wonderful part of the country.

Everything you need!!

We have just returned from 6 nights at Bridgefield. The gate is opened via a number you are given the day before, so security is excellent. There are many walks around which let's you view the stunning Cotswolds. The weather was red not for the duration of our stay, so we walked into town via the pedestrian path on a couple of occasions for some liquid refreshment. There are 7 pubs, restaurants, cafes, large Coop, medium sized Sainsbury's and many takeaways which deliver to the site. I loved the chickens running around, however Big Kev is now little Kev as Big Kev passed away after a meeting with a fox. Yes the site is on the A44 but we never noticed any road noise. He prepared that during busy times travelling to the surrounding tourist villages takes time by car as they are very popular. We found that you're best to go early or later in the day.

Lovely cl site

You can't fault this cl all as the previous review. Take some apples and carrots as the little brown and white pony enjoys them along with a nice bucket of cool fresh water that we gave her

Love our motorhome
