Peacefully Excellent

Made very welcome. Peaceful and secluded. Nice and clean. Would recommend this site to anyone who wants to be in the middle of the countryside.

worth a visit or two

We first used this site in the late 1980's and were regular caravanner's. returning again to caravan ownership after a 15 year break it was a pleasure to return to the site, nothing much has changed. Still well placed for walks and surrounding areas  (Helmsley, Harome etc) Recommend a visit

Away from it all

This CL is situated about 3 mls above Helmsley along a quiet lane and a further 1/2m up a farm drive, hence it's peace and quietness. The all grass site lies adjacent to the farm, is protected on 2 sides from the prevailing winds by stands of Scots Pines and has extensive views over to the Howardian Hills to the south. There are walks and cycle rides directly from the site, and many places of interest to visit close by, e.g. Rievaulx Abbey and Terrace, Helmsley Castle, Duncombe Park and Nunnington Hall. There is a small Co-op and a petrol station in Helmsley for essential supplies. Both Ann & Edwin, the owners, are very friendly and helpful. We have used this site a number of times in the past and will certainly return.

Excellent location

This was the first cl that we has stayed at. The access to the site would be be an issue if another vehicle was using the road at the same time but we found it very easy. The field is good although not flat, but not really an issue - plenty of walks straight from the site. Really loved this site and would recommend a visit to all.

Walkers Paradise

Beautiful site with welcoming owners, surrounded by wonderful walking country with tracks straight from the site. The site itself is well kept and although basic the toilet is spotlessly clean. The site is fence to keep the surrounding livestock out which is welcome when you have dogs. The fact that it is bordered on two sides with trees it is very sheltered but still has excellent views. We have already booked to return!

Fantastic find

We had a fantastic weekend at this cl. Amazing views, ample wild life. Easy access to many fabulous places, including plenty of national trust sites. Mr and Mrs Kirby couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful and clearly enjoyed having us there and showing our children newly born lambs. We have already rebooked this site for later in the year. We strongly recommend this site.
