Could not be a better CL

Lovely CL. Quiet and peaceful and yet at the heart of the the Jurassic Coast. Great for dogs, just adjacent to a nice forest. Plenty of room around the pitch. Owned by a great guy Andy, who could not be more friendly and welcoming. We're new to CAMC and CL sites, stayed at around half a dozen so far, Andy's site is right up there, perfect really. Can't wait to go back.

A Fantastic CL

What a fantastic CL! Thoroughly recommended for its location, tranquility and spaciousness. Great site for dogs, cycling and visiting local attractions. A great welcome from Andy, who was very hospitable, helpful and generous with his time. This site ticked all the boxes for us. We will definitely be coming back!

Peaceful site and surrounding area

We have just spent a week at Carnbrae and have absolutely no complaints about this CL. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner, Andy, who was really helpful and is a font of local knowledge about the area. With regard to the site, which is in a picturesque setting, electricity is provided (16 Amp) and there is plenty of space between each grass pitch. There is no toilet/shower block, which was absolutely fine for us, as each pitch has its own water supply (providing, in effect, a serviced pitch). There are lovely walks surrounding the CL and Lyme Regis is only about 2 miles away. When going to Lyme Regis, we left our car on the village hall car park (free parking) in the village of Uplyme (a short drive away) and walked along the delightful riverside path down to Lyme Regis. The path has a good surface for the most part, with a fence running on both sides (which kept our two spaniels out of the river!), but take care and keep dogs and young children close as the path does cross a couple of 'b' roads along the way. If you don't fancy walking back up the path on your return, there is a regular bus service from Lyme Regis back up to Uplyme, (hourly basis, numbers 51 and 53). There is easy access to surrounding towns, which are a short drive away (eg, Bridport, Honiton, Charmouth, Exeter, Dorchester, etc). Carnbrae is one of the best, most relaxed CLs we have stayed on and we will be returning.

Simply the best

We have just spent 1 week here (we wish it could have been longer) first time apprehension disappeared within an hour, its just a superb site. Andy keeps a low profile but you know he is available if you need him. People have mentioned about the access being narrow on the final approach, well thats what CLs are all about, this one isnt a problem in any way. UTOPIA ! THANKS ANDY. Bob & Kath Benson

Peace perfect peace

We have recently enjoyed a five day stay at this extremely peaceful sight. It was our first Cl but won't be our last. The site was easy to find, spacious and extremely peaceful. Andy was welcoming but not intrusive and gave us some good local advice. The sight was clean tidy and well managed. The addition of individual water taps was a bonus of course. The local area is beautiful with lots of nice places to explore. We spent a lot of time on the coast which was really close by. All in all a fabulous stay despite some torrential downpours at times. We hope to come again sometime.

Spacious & Peaceful

The site is large, level and screened from a quiet road. Andy the owner was helpful and informative. Situated high above Lyme Regis it is very peaceful site, although like most country sites there is the occasional tractor. You can see the sea, just, but walk down the road a short way and you can have wonderful views towards Lyme. Access to Forestry Commission land can be gained from a nearby track, ideal for dog walks. Being a large field and having a water tap at each pitch is a bonus. Only downside are narrow roads when arriving & departing but we did not find it a problem. Recomended.
