Ease of arrival/welcome

Peaceful site and surrounding area

We have just spent a week at Carnbrae and have absolutely no complaints about this CL. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner, Andy, who was really helpful and is a font of local knowledge about the area. With regard to the site, which is in a picturesque setting, electricity is provided (16 Amp) and there is plenty of space between each grass pitch. There is no toilet/shower block, which was absolutely fine for us, as each pitch has its own water supply (providing, in effect, a serviced pitch). There are lovely walks surrounding the CL and Lyme Regis is only about 2 miles away. When going to Lyme Regis, we left our car on the village hall car park (free parking) in the village of Uplyme (a short drive away) and walked along the delightful riverside path down to Lyme Regis. The path has a good surface for the most part, with a fence running on both sides (which kept our two spaniels out of the river!), but take care and keep dogs and young children close as the path does cross a couple of 'b' roads along the way. If you don't fancy walking back up the path on your return, there is a regular bus service from Lyme Regis back up to Uplyme, (hourly basis, numbers 51 and 53). There is easy access to surrounding towns, which are a short drive away (eg, Bridport, Honiton, Charmouth, Exeter, Dorchester, etc). Carnbrae is one of the best, most relaxed CLs we have stayed on and we will be returning.
