Having never been to the site before and due to the time of year there wasn't a soul around, so I had to follow my nose to find the field but as I looked on google maps before leaving, I knew roughly where to go. I was a bit worried at first as its a totally private country estate, but it soon made sense.
The site field is a good size and fairly level. The 'wet' pit for the loo empty takes a bit of hunting out but it is well signed when you get to it.
We parked up ok but after 2 days of rain, I was wheel spinning to drive out, so I asked Mike to kindly pull me out with his tractor which he did more than willingly, which stopped me tearing up the field trying to drive out myself, which I may have been able to do, but maybe not.
I have already re booked and will be taking my boat next year when the weather warms up, great slipway on site which is for the sole use of estate guests and selected others.
All in all a lovely place and run by lovely people and has all you need in the way of facilities.
Hits the spot!
This is the perfect place to test both our new Motorhome and ourselves, being newbies. Judy was most helpful when booking and is so friendly and personable. As the others say there is only water and disposal here, but all the better to test the self sufficiency. However, the location is the key here. A lovely sunny days helps, but the walks and views are superb. We will definitely be back as it's only a couple of hours from home.
Great location
We stayed for three nights and travelled from here to Goodwood Festival of Speed and Chichester. It was a great location. Plenty of space. We like sites without electricity as this gives the freedom when pitching. Lovely walks along the estuary. Very peaceful.
Lovely location
Cobnor House is at the end of the Chidham Peninsula just south of Southbourne between Emsworth and Bosham. It is situated in a lovely location with very easy access to terrific walks and views of the various creeks in Chichester Harbour.
The site has no 230v, so a good, fully charged 12v battery is essential. In fact the only facilities are a tap and a chemical disposal point, but what more do you need?
The lady that oversees the site (Judy) is lovely and very welcoming. If I had a criticism (and it is the only one) it is that the ground is very bumpy and, when we visited (May 2013) the ground had quite large areas of bare soil. This didn't spoil our stay, but it could have got quite muddy when wet.
Most bank holiday weekends, I understand, have neighbouring fields with caravan rallies going on in them. So if you were expecting the normal 5 units you may be in for a surprise. That said, it is really a little bit of heaven!
