Great Site

Easy to find but follow instructions not satnav as other local Devon lanes can be barely 6ft between hedges. Friendly informative hosts, wonderfully kept hardstanding pitches with water and ehu to each.CL has pictureesque view overlooking Taw estuary. Location good for local walks. Fremington quay lovely spot but avoid crowds sunny weekends! We only stayed 1 night as weather turned bad but would love to return.

Peaceful

Stayed 5 nights from 31st aug quite easy to get to bit of a tight bend to get onto field with van but Ian was there and gave very good advice on the way to get round, fantastic views from our pitch over the bay and the Alpaca's was a bonus, another bonus was having water tap on your pitch, bit of road noise but not annoying, Great base for exploring the area of Devon, keep up the good work.

Fabulous CL

Enjoyed a 6 night stay at this really special site. Easy access to site and once we arrived we received a very friendly welcome from Ian, so we soon knew where our grass pitch was in the paddock and he showed us our electric and water supplies, easy and simple. Payment very straightforward too. Pitches are generous, you don’t feel crowded at all. Because the site is situated high in the hills the views are amazing, big skies, wonderful sunsets and very little light pollution at night. Plenty of cycling in the area, the Tarka trail makes Barnstaple, Bideford and Instow all very accessible. This is a gem of a site, will definitely stay again.

Devon delight!

Recently spent 7 nights at Ian and Linda's paddock area of their site. Very easy to find using Sat Nav and Ian was mowing the paddock area when we arrived so was on hand to point us to our spot. EHU and Water point very convenient. Slight gradient of the slot so used ramps to level up. As you would expect in Devon there are sone sloping areas to navigate and this was true on site but not an issue. Chemical waste point discreetly contained near to the fenced off area holding the Alpacca's which was a nice distraction from doing the necessary business :-). Site very handy to get to local beauty spots and the A39 links most of this up. Now during the day you do get noise from the A39 but we were out most days so that wasnt an issue and at night it was fairly quiet. Weather was lovely for the majority of the week so it was lovely that we had great views of the rolling hills around us. We got talking to Eddie who was staying next to us and he recommended visiting the villages of Lynmouth and Lynton where they have the oldest water powered cliff railway. So we did and it was an absolute charm of a place so put it on your list. Overall a really lovely site and one worth considering in you plan to be in that part of Devon Simon and Sarah

Super Site

Just returned from 12 nights in Ian's Paddock (the new addition to the main CL). Plenty of room on each pitch with own electric and water. We were lucky to have the pitch with the view over to the estuary. Plenty of places to visit and excellent walks. Saunton Sands great for watching the kite surfers. Take a ball of string with you if you go walking amongst the dunes at Braunton!! We are new to caravanning so have plenty of CLs still to take advantage of, but would definitely recommend this site. Barnstaple great for all your shopping needs. Many thanks Ian and Linda and we hope to return in the not too distant future.

Lovely CL in north Devon

Enjoyed a week at Collacott Farm with a well serviced CL that has water and electric at all pitches. Easy location to get to but make sure you use Ian and Linda's directions and not your Sat Nav as some local lanes are not for caravans or motorhomes. Lots to see locally so enjoy your stay

Lovely site

Lovely peaceful site with amazing views. The Alpacas were interesting to watch from the caravan. It was a bonus to have a tap on each pitch.

Excellent and helpful site

Very helpful owners. Ensured I knew how to get to the site with a call before I arrived. I had issues with my caravan door and solved the problem. Also did his best to issue we had everything. I am very grateful. Thank you.

A great site to explore North Devon

Just had another wonderful long stay at Collacott Farm which is our favourite CL site. We have been coming here for years. Situated on the hill above Fremington there are views of the Taw estuary and big, sometimes starry night skies from the site. For between 10 and 40 minutes of driving you can access loads of gorgeous, mainly dog friendly sandy beaches - Instow, Westward Ho, Northam Burrows, Crow Point, Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, Woollacombe and Putsborough. The South West Coast path provides spectacular cliff top walks at Morte Point, the Valley of the Rocks above Lynton, Baggy Point and Hartland Quay. The Tarka Trail is great for biking. There are lots of interesting towns and villages nearby - Barnstaple, Bideford (the Burton Art Gallery is really nice), Appledore, Clovelly and Combe Martin. There is just loads to see and do. The owners, Ian and Linda, are lovely, really friendly and helpful and although the site is basic it is well organised and follows Covid measures carefully. The entrance to the site angles off the main drive so you need to follow Ian’s instructions and approach it carefully and slowly on your first attempt (but we now get round it in one with our estate car and lunar clubman so it is doable once you know how to tackle it). If you want to explore North Devon you couldn’t pick a better location and we can highly recommend the Hocking’s ice cream.
