Peaceful relaxing CL

Well organised, tidy site with beautiful views over estuary and Alpacas. Some hard standing. Peaceful site, some noise from A road and wind turbines (to be expected as close). Owners very accommodating and helpful on our first trip as new Motorhomers. Appledore definitely worth a visit!

LOVELY CL

We stayed here in our motorhome last month on a hardstanding pitch. It is a lovely CL with the location being close to Barnstaple. The views were nice and it was nice to see the Alpaccas in the field opposite when we woke up in the morning. Being from Cornwall it is not too far for us so when we want to visit Devon next time we would definately stay here again. Thank you to the owners who were very nice and welcoming.

Wonderful site

Visited this site last month as a last minute few days getaway. We were not disappointed. The site is well thought out, maintained immaculately, clean, welcoming, and overall lovely. The llamas complete what is an excellent place to stay. The owners are very friendly and helpful and keep a low profile so you are not disturbed, yet are knowledgable and helpful if you need anything. This site is going to become a regular go-to for us and I would like to thank the owners for a fantastic three night stay.

Saved our Holiday

We stayed at this site for 4 nights, we had been to Cornwall and had booked another site which when we arrived just wasn't for us. We rang this site and they let us stay on their site, the owners could not have been more helpful it made a very stress full end to the holiday (thinking that we would have to cut the holiday short) very enjoyable. the views are beautiful with lots to do in the area, thank you Ian and your family, lovely lovely helpful family.

Site with character.....

Have just returned from a few days at this quiet and well kept site. Amenities clean and well cared for, and the gardens well kept Noise from the distant main road can be heard if the wind is blowing from that direction - but remains low pitched. Site ( particularly on the top of the site with the hard standings ) has distant views of the River Taw. Fudge,Benny and Sooty, the three alpacas, are quiet and can be amusing to watch. Site is well placed for the surrounding area, with Croyde and Instow worth a visit. Access may be a little tight for those with twin axle vans, but can be acheived with care ( as there was a long twin present on site ) Will happily return when in the area - Recommended

Loved it.

We have just spent a wonderful four days/nights at Collacott. We benefitted from the unusual February we've just had. We did'nt meet Mrs. Stagg but Ian was helpful in any way that he could be. He put our van on our pitch when I got stuck in particularly lush grass, after taking a wrong turn. I would recommend this CL to any other members. We would certainly use this site again.

Wonderful, peaceful place.

We stayed on Collacott Farm CL for two weeks in July/August 2018. The farm is very easy to get to and very peaceful. The farm owner Ian, introduced himself and told us where the local attractions are. The site is very clean, tidy and very well presented, there's hard standings as well as grass pitches. The views looking over the estuary are wonderful. Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely lady

Mrs Stagg is such a delightful lady. Her site has beautiful views, is easily accessible apart from a very sharp right turn into the site. Good TV reception and 3G on both Three and O2. The site could be quite hostile in a force 10 as it’s very exposed. Would stay again.

Sky, Sea & Rolling Hills

We stayed for seven nights in early April. Approach is from the east along the Old Bideford Road and via a private driveway bordered by a dazzling display of Azaleas and Camellias. A very sharp and upward right turn leads to the CL where there are three hard standings; the remaining pitches slope sideways, where the grass was ankle length and the ground less even. The A39 is a short distance away, traffic noise from which is particularly noticeable during travel-to-work times. Mains water was due to be switched off for most of the second day, but Mrs Stagg thoughtfully provided a few litres of bottled water. Fresh water and waste disposal is adjacent and easy to access. There is a well-appointed WC and wash basin for the use of campers beside the farmhouse just a minute's walk away. The site occupies an elevated position giving good views north towards the River Taw estuary and hills beyond. Fremington shops are at least one a half miles away down a single track road with passing places, where there is a post office, Costcutter, Boots and Graylings fish and chip shop, which is highly recommended. During our stay the Old Bideford Road was frequently used by heavy goods vehicles which appeared to be travelling to and from a quarry about 1200 yards west of the CL. Not a problem, apart from their drivers' tendency to tailgate tardy motorists. We hope to use this site again.
